Just seen the goals and deary me, piss poor defending. Not being at the game it's difficult to comment but we know the players are collectively capable of better. I trust the manger to do whatever it takes to up the performance level again either with the current crop or by freshening things up.

It maybe a bad loss but there's no need for panic and lose your perspective on things. Pretty sure Guardiola won't be panicking.

For their first goal there must have been a bloke in the crowd controlling a small drone inside that football the way it landed perfectly on their strikers head

it was a hell of a good header as well

Well that was another poor result against a team that didn't have to try hard to beat us again, sitting back flooding midfield, keeping bodies between our players and their goal, and waiting for us to make silly mistakes which we duly did.
In the first half we were the better football team, the midfield working hard, but for all our pretty play the front men never got a ball behind their defence, always to feet with a defender up their backside, trying to get the half turn, and all the time waiting for the counter attack to come.
And come it did, the sort of simple football, ball from out wide whipped into the area, two hesitant defenders, Madden gets in between them a header goal, the sort of gift goal our strikers don't get presented with. Then we huffed and puffed, the game going the same way to half time.
Still confident we were the better football side, the shock came at the start of the second half when Herbie came out and lined up at right back, we just got worse and worse, Whiteman spraying the ball around directly to the opposition, May and Rowe coming on and making no difference at all,  and presented them with two goals we manufactured for them with schoolboy defending.
Quite one of the worst games of the season as far as our team was concerned, Grant being completely out thought, and the team being out fought for the second time this season, the only player to have some semblance of form the old man Coppinger.
My last comment on the game Herbie Kane is not a right back.

The thing is selby, when we score a goal like the first one it is lauded as great movement by the scorer.
Had we scored one like their third it is seen to be good movement by the player who scores and a brilliant through ball to him.

It is all about perspective.

You may not have seen my posts since the game ended but we have to accept that we won’t win them all and we will have some poor performances, much like Man City and they are a lot better than us.

Hound, nobody knows more than me a team has peaks and troughs in a season where form is concerned. And that is a weakness of our team, we can be good and bad in the same game, as we were yesterday, never mind game to game, in the first half we played well in most of the half, but defensively gave a poor goal away, when that ball came over the advantage was with the defenders, not the attacker, they did not attack the ball, he did, well done to him, bad play on our part. The second goal killed the game and should never have happened, it was a culmination of bad play, in an area of the pitch we had players to deal with it and didn't, again poor defending and concentration, and certainly in both cases, not being aware of where the men the defenders should have been covering were.

First goal. Lack of basic defending from Cummings. A full back should never let a player come in from the blindside like that.

Second goal. Bad decision from Anderson but where was Butler? Centre halves shouldn't be too far apart like that.

Third goal. They couldn't be arsed to defend properlyas a team. Given up.

Everyone quite right to be angry as it's the simple basics that deserted us.
