Thought ref was going over to send Fergie to stands
The ref gave them that free kick on edge of area, the offence which wasn't a foul by the way was about 6 foot inside area
Clear kick out. Good reffing.

Kenny Jackett talks about the sending off in his post-match interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIv5H9m4YcQAlways liked Jackett; a no-nonsense manager but also honest and modest.
Doesn't say anything about mistaken identity here. Pretty clear they got the right man anyway.https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2017/october/donohue-suspension-overturned/[/quoteWTF does "wrongful dismissal" mean!! Are they saying the wrong man got sent off or do they mean it was wrong to send him off? It was violent conduct whether or not he connected so a definite red, as was the Southend incident. Why cant they be consistent?

Why cant they be consistent? All "wrongful dismissal" means is that they don't think he should have been sent off, which is literally incredible.I have sympathy with the ref and the Fourth Official. If I was in their shoes I'd be bloody fuming.
The precedent set here is you're allowed to swing for someone as long as you're crap at it and miss.Hopefully the committee members responsible got a stern telling off behind closed doors and this doesn't start to spread.
It was a bit of a half-arsed swing, but a swing nevertheless. He knew immediately he was in the doodoo as he tried desperately to apologise to everyone within 20 yards as the ref strolled over.
