Great news! Terrible ref but we invariably win when he's in charge.

Unfortunately I think the standard in general has lowered to his level

Having watched the standard of refereeing so far this season it pains me to say that it makes Kettle appear competent

Plymouth are unbeaten at home this season in league, won two and drawn two. Kept two clean sheets. Demolished Wednesdays 3-0 in last home game.

Kettle is an atrocious ref - that we have a decent record with him in the middle is irrelevant, he’s usually shit for both teams.

Full of self importance too.

I’d love to be able to see an Assessor’s Report on the referees. It might give some sort of ‘clarity’ on whether we feel, as fans, it has fair & salient points or as I fear (because unless a ref makes a blatant rick i.e. sending off the wrong player you rarely see they’ve been ‘demoted’ for a period) it is purposely ambiguous.

He's always been terrible but the fact remains that we do seem to do rather well when he's in charge.

4-0 Reds inbound!

Can’t really see problem with him definitely no worse than others we have had over last few seasons anyway

I can’t think of many games where we’ve ‘pushed the envelope’ on time wasting ‘tactics’ before!

But the lads were desperate to get the 3 points so I can definitely live with it.

Kettle was an absolute disgrace back when we were in the Conference and League 2. Him and that other pillock who's name escapes me right now were known across the nation as refs to be avoided. Ruined every match he officiated in. I havent seen him for quite a while now so he might have improved, but his history really is awful.

He can usually be relied on to get both sets of fans singing "you're not fit to Referee" at the same time but he does not stand out as much as some of his contemporaries are very ordinary

Wolfie, I was starting to get worried about you, two days into a thread about officials, & indeed Mr Kettle, I wondered if your Internet had gone down ;-)
