I hereby remove my support for this football club until someone can explain this decision as anything other than a power hungry Russian to**er flexing his muscles, against one of the most loyal, talented and central figures of 10 years of SUSTAINED success at this club. ZINGAREVICH OUT.

Personally I'm not sure what to make of it, but I agree with this guy:

I agree ....the bloke was well good enough for them

It's the problem with success that sometimes too much is expected. If they'd come 3rd and lost in play offs he'd be still employed.

They are down whoever they appoint. What do they expect a new manager to do in a handful of games, with no budget and a closed transfer window.

Gutted for the Reading fans. That's them coming straight back up next season in the balance now. It was nailed on with McDermott at the helm.

It could well be the right decision to take them to the next level, even if it doesn't save them this season. I'm guessing they have someone lined up. Time will tell.

Di Canio was at Reading's last game, that's probably why he is the favourite, the Swindon board called his stint there as "management by hand grenade".
Could be interesting, McDermott won't be out of work for long.

Got to agree with that. I don't think he will get as much leeway the higher he goes, but with these rich foreign owners, who knows, perfectly good managers are getting sacked, maybe a loose cannon will suit them better!

It's a shocker along the lines of Adkins departure at Southampton. Three teams WILL go down regardless and with Man Utd and Arsenal the next two games for the Royals, who's going to back them to escape?

Got QPR, Southampton and Reading written all over it for relegation. And after this seasons events, I would say pretty much deserved for all of them.
