I expect that the Ref (who tells the 4th Official what to display) decided it was to be a minimum of 5 minutes.

Then he added Rowes injury time or most of it to that 5 making 6 and a half

I was wondering if he also added another 30 seconds for their goal and its long lasting celebrations. I suspect yes

I think the question is: where the hell did he get 5 mins from in the first place.

There were 5 subs. Those are supposed to add on 30s apiece. So that's 2.5 minutes.

Where did the other time come from? Other than Rowe (and we're accounting for that in the added time going from 5 mins to 7 mins) there wasn't a trainer on the pitch throughout the match. There was no moment at which the ref pointed to his watch and threaten the Rovers with a booking for time wasting. So how the hell could he find another 2.5minutes?

I'd have said 3 mins tops. Plus an extra 90secobds for Rowe's injury. That's it.

And yes, once again I do feel bleeding well cheated by inexplicable decisions by the ref in a Rovers-Rotherham derby.
