Yesterday's Remembrance ceremony

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned. How good and respectful was this? Also came across very well on the TV, and the Rotherham fans played their part also.

Pity about the 2 way Radios in the West Stand but apart from that great response from all

After the Radios went off I then thought how many Mobiles could have gone off. Nobody puts them on Silent for a minutes silence do they ?

I did, was pondering to myself as I did it how easy it would be to make an announcement beforehand asking politely to turn them to silent. Happens in cinemas after all. How well people would comply is a different story mind. I did hear one or two go off but that happens every time there's a minute's silence these days sadly.

A lot of people including me would probably struggle to remember how to get Phone on silent if not given at least a weeks notice !

Having no Kids or Grandkids I'd be b******d !

My phone buzzed in my pocket during the minute's silence. Luckily I'd switched the sound off just prior to the ceremony so no one was treated to a rendition of the Bonanza TV theme.

Praise be that it did not become minute of applause. Someone tried but thankfully decorum prevailed.

Liked the bugler.

Agree with the radios DW the fact it was so well observed highlighted them going off
Seemed to have been a bit of confusion how it was announced ‘time of reflection’ fortunately everyone observed silence - credit to everyone in the ground

Did they? I thought people were applauding a part of the proceedings.

It’s well observed every year.

It should be instructed that all of the two way radios are silenced as it also happened last year.

I heard them from the South but didn’t know at the time where the sound was coming from.

The stadium announcer didn't make a very good job of making it clear what was happening before hand, we were all a bit confused as to whether there would be a minutes silence or not, i am pretty sure at one point that he said there wouldn't be one, just a 'moments' reflection.

It was impeccably observed, as you would expect.

I can't remember what the last silence we had was for (we have too many IMO), but my nieces phone went off at that, not once but twice. Thankfully she switched it to silent yesterday having learnt her lesson!

Probably will be noted by Club for the future - but I personally dont think you can get total silence anyway with Gulls Planes Cars etc all in the area

My Phone rings once a Month and did not go off this time - but after the Radios went I had the awful thought it might for the rest of the silence - I will "silent mode" it next time but as above I just did not give it  thought and I would have been "annoyed" if it had rung but no less respectful of the Silence and certainly what it always stands for !

I must admit, I reached down into my pocket and flicked the "silent" switch when I heard that radio go off.

The thought of my ringtone breaking the silence didn't bear thinking about.

It's the chorus from My Jampandy by Sleaford Mods.

And before you go looking for it, it's definitely not suitable for work or kids.

I would have only inflicted "Donny Donny Donny" by the lads from Leeds on the silence !
