Title: Be careful where you park on Saturday
Post by: Filo on February 22, 2018, 12:12:30 pm
You might be prevented from getting back to your car

I wonder why SYP have a free for all at the KM and then have exit strategy elsewhere

Restrictions in place for 20 mins it says..

Sometimes you do wonder though.  I remember going to Millwall where there is/was a fenced off walkway from the away end to the nearest station, but no segregation on the platform whatsoever, although I can't see how that would be organised there.

Sometimes it's not about preventing trouble but just about getting people moved from one place to another and vice versa as quickly and simply as possible. Which can help prevent trouble as well, mind.

Probably because the keeping is on the edge of town with a good link to the motorway. Whereas Rotherham ground is in the middle of town miles from the motorway. It's not all a conspiracy against us

They do it at all big games at the NYS since world war 3 broke out after the match against Chesterfield when we didn't have the fence up.

You'll have to turn left off New York way onto Main Street towards the old Millmoor ground so if you park on that side of the dual carriageway you'll be fine, (they do have match day parking st the old ground) otherwise you'll have to wait 15 or so minutes for the home fans to go.

So are we being directed towards the station?

Whether you go left or right on Main Street you can get to the station.

Turn left then right into Masboro street or turn right and left into corporation street both lead to it.

Anyone know if Northern are putting on extra carriages for the17.07 & 17.47 as we have kids in our party & can see it being a nightmare on that poxy little station.

Will they eck...Northern are shocking..I caught a train from Sheffield to Trent bridge for the test match earlier this year..About 600 people had bought tickets and were waiting on the platform for it and when it rocked up,it had 2 carriages..Absolute carnage..People were so tightly packed in a woman fainted but was so squashed she was held up by the people around her..I com[plained to them on health and safety issues and got one of those standard reply's that might as well just have said..."we don't give a toss"
