...and it's bleeding freezing. I cannot remember a colder Spring. Like chuffing November, today.
-
I said we'd pay for that unnaturally dry sunny April; apparently the second driest since records began.
I just hope we see an improvement in June.
-
Yeah but even April wasn't warm, other than the odd few days. We've barely had a handful of days above 15C and we are four f**king weeks away from mid-Summer.
-
I'm off for a break on the east coast next week.
The forecast is for a high of 11 degrees.
Bloody rubbish Cusack.

April was dry but cold particularly a night. There was a big block of high pressure that wouldn't shift. Every morning we were waking up to frosts, it was driving gardeners mad.
It's all being caused by the jet stream which seems to be behaving a bit unusually these days. It was stuck to the south of the UK, so the block of high pressure wasn't getting moved.

I reckon the world has got its priorities wrong. All this climate change nonsense... Simple: weather control is the answer to everything!

“April showers” tend to happen in May every year now. Definite shift.
-
......and September always has great weather, as if it was August.

They reckon it's being caused by the ice sheets melting in Greenland that's tipping a lot of cold freshwater into the North Atlantic. That's having an effect on the Atlantic conveyor which in turn is affecting the Jet Stream, which they think is slowing and becoming less constant. The wiggly patterns it follows drags unexpected weather systems down from the North or sometimes pulls warm weather up from the South.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll all be alright.
Oh and they reckon the poles have shifted marginally too. All melting ice, North and South has redistruibuted a lot of weight around the planet. I don't think that would affect the weather though.

From an unusually dry, cold April to an extremely wet May.

A farmer friend of mine was saying a month ago that he was starting to get close to panic level, given the lack of rain in the previous months. Now it's gone the other way. Everything sodden.
