Playing ok. Middleton decent. Main looking ok. Luke not the answer at right back.

Just like last season we didn't turn up for the first 5 mins of the secon half. Ayala would have been sent off by now in a competitive game he must have committed at least 4 yellow card offences. I would imagine the same reason why Chaplow didn't play Tuesday has kept him out today, worryingly he does have a poor injury record

0-0 and until we started bringing the youngsters on, we were matching up well. Still not a "real" game but good signs again.

Middleton looks quality. Apart from a couple of dodgy passes he didn't put a foot wrong.

Really looking forward to seeing Middleton develop. I read on here recently he wasn't mobile enough but I don't agree with that, to me he looks a good all rounder, quality first touch too. I'm sure he will get more games this year.

I think he's become less bulky and more mobile since last season and I agree with the rest. He was left on his own for quite a bit today having to play next to Wellens but he ran our midfield well and I don't think we'll need Payne with Middleton coming through.

He doesn't waste the ball either, did well. Thought we played well without a massive threat up front , keeper looks solid apart from his throw to set up miss of season

I thought he looked to have trimmed down a touch v Forest in the week, and he played very well in that game (in a makeshift central pair with Copps).  It sounds like he's carried that good performance in to this game too.

Performance overall was good. We still need the injured players fit, Chaplow, Keegan and Tyson plus Jack McKay.

Williams took a knock hope it's not bad.

Middleton is developing and will compete for a place in midfield.

McCullough is not a right back. We still need one.

So PD says we need two more but we need three more.

Another good workout, hopefully this is a sign of our home form to come.

I think the whole team looks fitter, Wellens, Butler, McCullough, Main and Middleton all appear to be slimmer than last season. Today showed we lack pace more than anything

How does that compare to the Forest game ? I didn't see any attendance figures for that one.

Difficult to judge pace in that sort of game as the players weren't giving it 100%.  I broke my own rule of not going to pre season friendlies yesterday.  I was up in doncaster anyway and wanted to go to the ticket office and shop, so took in the game too.

I usually argue that we can't judge much on these games and I still believe that, however I would have got a better perception of our team if there had been more "bite" in the game.  I thought Middleton did very well on the ball, but would like to see him getting stuck in more.  McCullough also was composed (everyone looked good on the ball apart maybe from Williams) but again, possibly because it was a friendly, didn't get to show much prowess as a RB defending.

I was impressed by Main, his control and touch looked much better than in some of the games last season.
