Good luck to him. Hope he gets a double promotion in the next 2 yrs.
Going to be very tough to get just the 1st one.
The 2nd one will require a significant investment in the playing squad.

Would be good to see both Scunny and York city back in the EFL imo.

I was talking to a friend who is a Scunny STH and he told me that not getting promoted this last season means that they will no longer be a full time pro club.
That will make the job a bit harder for Butts.

Good luck to him. Great servant to us and Scunny, and responsible for one of the most memorable and proud moments in our recent history when he imposed himself on that corner ball at Charlton in the play-offs and headed it in.

Did not realise that hound. It’s going to be tough then.
It just shows though how easy it is to slip through the leagues into obscurity. It is not that long ago that Scunny were playing in the Championship, think one of those seasons was parallel with us being at that level.
Get the wrong owner and you can slide down a slippery slope very fast.
York, Darlington, Chester, 3 decent size Northern clubs who have never really looked like getting back into the EFL and there are many others North and South of course who haven’t also. Too many to list.

He'll be digging out the managerial turtleneck again then.

Wish him well, it's such a shame how his time here ended and I hope he returns in some capacity one day.
