1-0 up already against Grimsby - hopefully they retain the advantage tonight, beat Notts County away on Saturday and then safely on the beach for next Tuesday :woohoo: :woohoo:

If they win tonight they just need Sutton not to win on Saturday and they are safe.

We want Sutton to beat Crawley on Saturday even if Crawley lose tonight. It might mean we don’t have to win all 3 games.

Exactly. It adds a certain spice though to next Tuesday match.

I think that Colchester could be our hardest game. They’re had some decent results recently. Hooper is a dangerous player who scores goals, we need a defender to neutralize his threats.

Tom Hopper has scored 3 in the last 2 matches making 4 for the season

I think we have the defenders to cope with a striker who has only scored 4 in 32 matches this season.  After all we have shut out much much better players recently.
Prior to last weekend games max biamou had scored more goals this season that hopper.

All I’m saying is that Hopper is a quality player who could cause us problems.

Similar player to Ironside isn’t he?

Partnered by Akinde too so could be a physical game that one.

Not to mention Danny Cowley is at the helm and he'll insist on keeping them going through until the end of the season to maintain standards and build momentum for next term, protect the integrity of the league/competition, and quite simply he'll want to be the gaffer that brings our winning run to a halt assuming Barrow haven't done so already by then.

We’re the form side, over the last couple of months.  Better results than the 3 promoted clubs.

Doesn’t guarantee we will win of course, but the other teams should be fearing us.

They also had a centre forward sent off on Saturday which is also a 3 game ban meaning he misses next Tuesday.

Hoping for both Sutton and Colchester to win on Saturday meaning Crawley drop points and also Colchester will have nothing to play for on Tuesday.

According to BST’s points predictor, Colchester are already safe. Here’s hoping the weekend’s results provide confirmation.

That points predictor changes every week.
The total points predicted for the bottom two has changed markedly since it first went on here.
Colchester won’t feel safe until the maths prove they are.

Yes he is. Those minimising players that have had decent careers are asking for trouble. This will be another hard game

Anyone going by car to this fixture next week, booked car parking and if so is sign up required on their website?

Use the park and ride on the other side of the dual carriage way. It’s a lot cheaper and it won’t be a pain to get out of post match

Thanks for that, I wasn't aware of a park and ride, you've just saved me £4, I'll buy you a drink at the game!

Parking was only via an App last season when I was there. Details are at https://www.essexhighways.org/getting-around/colchester-park-and-ride. The website does not specify that it will be open for Tuesday’s match, but it does show that it would have been open for the match as originally scheduled, so you assume they have just not updated it.

Word of warning . You will get a ticket if you dump your car on a street near the ground .
