Why would it be a fib?  Player announcements still depend upon the players and their agents doing their part too.  Maybe offers have been made that PD and the club are expecting to sign imminently.

Transfers happen on weekends all the time. The fact we have less than a fortnight to go and a lot if positions to fill, I'm pretty sure Dickov and Baldwin are on the phone and at work constantly

If the signing is the one I'm thinking of then I think there is a technical issue which means we are better to wait till Monday before completing the formalities.

However, at this stage we really need to be thinking of a lot more than one signing!
