Sheff eagles

Will play their matches at the keepmoat in the 2015 season on the same days as the dons. The dons will kick their games off at 2.00 and the eagles at 4.15

My first thoughts are that it seems a wise move to do so. Minimum expenditure on ticket office, stewards, catering etc and hopefully double the income stream.

What about Good Friday? Surely we can't have Rovers, Dons and Eagles all on the same day?

How's this going to affect the pitch - we know the KM has had issues prior so another team playing on it could be good financially however hinder the football team

Not a chance. The Eagles tried that stunt in 1995, there was uproar from both sets of supporters. It won't happen.

Won't make any difference Si. Rugby league is played over the entire pitch and does far less damage than football does. You only have to look at a football pitch at the end of the season. Bald areas on both goal lines, six yard box and penalty spot. There is no concerted play at any point on a rugby league pitch.

But it you continually play on the pitch and do not give it time to recover, you will end up with a ploughed field, 4 teams playing games on it, potentially a week will not do it any good no matter what people say about it being summer and the grass is still growing.

Crazy idea 😡 the small amount of income offset v wear and tear on pitch is madness. Suspect when expenses taken off with the miniscle crowds close to making loss anyway 🙈

Good job it's not your opinion that counts then. Club Doncaster will make more out of this than you think.

Crazy idea  the small amount of income offset v wear and tear on pitch is madness. Suspect when expenses taken off with the miniscle crowds close to making loss anyway

I'd suggest you re think your finances.  The break even point for these kind of things is likely pretty tiny.  Most of the cost is fixed so in these cases irrelevant.

If it doesn't impact on the pitch I'm all for it, they must think that it will do next to no harm.

I agree with that, but i can't see it not doing harm. Unless its a considerable amount, its a poor decision IMO

I would prefer to hear the thoughts of the groundsman or the club about the pitch rather than fans' assumptions?

However, if the two teams play one after another on the same day, then the pitch only has to recover once?  Therefore not much different yo only one rugby team using it.
