Let’s hope all the the players who are displaying symptoms will be ok. So we could see the next 4 games being postponed up to the 5th Jan .

It would also see Peterborough have another game called off, it also prevents us having 5 away games on the bounce

Does this mean we forfeit the FA Cup tie?

The 10 days will have passed before the FA Cup tie so players should be available. Although they won’t have had much training before the game.

We could be seeing a lot of this over the next month or so. Let's hope those with the virus and those displaying symptoms make a full and speedy recovery!

I'm of course happy for clubs to be cautious and not take the risk but how come recently clubs have been calling games off when they have a couple of positive tests in the group, whereas before clubs were playing even if they had a few?

Disappointing news anyway, leaves a big hole in the middle of my Boxing Day!

If all the other players get tested and come back negative no reason why they cannot play Tuesday

Wolves have blocked their players going to the supermarket in a bid to reduce their risk of contracting coronavirus.

Spoilt my Boxing Day big time. Bad enough not being allowed in the ground but can’t even see the match on i player either.
This could be a very long season. Think we will still be playing well into June.

Get ready for the season being cancelled early. Are people still deluding themselves that this f*cking virus will ever be gone? It's mutating itself and just getting stronger all the time.

Regarding vaccines, does anyone seriously think that this government can organise the logistics of vaccinating 50 million people over the next year?

The only thing to eradicate this virus would be a worldwide martial law lockdown, but no country's going to agree to that, so it will be the same old stop start, stop start sh*t that we've had for the last 9 months.

Get ready for more years of this misery.

Viruses always mutate, that's what they do. This one hasn't become 'stronger' but it is transmitting more easily.

What tends to happen with viruses is they mutate and become less dangerous. A virus that is more dangerous and kills the host more efficiently isn't going to last long.

Like Spanish flu, it's likely that this virus will eventually change and disappear off the radar. It's just a question of time.

Well they've done half a million in 2 weeks. Not even got half the venues and oxford vaccine in play yet as well.

I fully expect England v Scotland to have 80k plus at Euro 2020

Depends how the vaccinations are played hopefully once key workers and high risk people are vaccinated things can start opening up more. Really hope we don't go down the line of until 100% of the population are vaccinated then it's essentially lockdown for all.

Specifically with football seems like these guys should be the least at risk from spread so you'd like to think we can get to a point where just those testing positive don't play rather than the game been called off. Given the age of footballers they'll be among the last to be vaccinated so if we don't start taking a less all or nothing approach this stop start will likely be ongoing well in 2022

How come that Man City reported Kyle Walker and  Gabriel Jesus were self isolating (or tested positive maybe) ... and Sky Sports News said (this morning) so they will miss the next 3 games - rather than saying so Man City cant play for 20 days

Is it a squad size thing - or what ?

Depends on how many players in a squad have got Covid, if it's just two then you're still able to play. The issue with us is we need to test to find out if there's more in the squad with it before we can play but if there is then it's likely a few of our games are off.
