FM 2012
« on June 19, 2011, 08:42:28 am by Al Riggall »
I help out Sports Interactive with the ratings of our players, I have just had feedback from them for th2 2012 games and they feel all the rovers squad are over rated by around 3-4 ratings. I have reduced 9 players fom the 2010-11 season (I also did the ratings for this), all others are about the same.

I am just after some feedback on players in 2011 game that you feel were over/ under rated based on your experiences of playing the game. Which if any players do you feel were over rated and why? which players do you feel were under rated and why?

I hope to send the feedback to the SI team to help to convince them I have been fair with the ratings, and if the general opinion is I have got anything wrong I will review and if I agree I will push to get these changes in.

Cheers

Al

In my opinion....

Brian Stock was over-rated a little bit.
James Coppinger was probably the most over rated he was a bit too consistent also.  Probably say that Martin Woods was similar, also rated too highly.

Think a couple were under-rated, namely Mustapha Dumbuya and George Friend.  Friend would probably be better with a greater tackling and aerial ability.

Cheers,

Stock has been reduced from 125/200 CA to 116 CA for 2012, equivalent of first team regular of top 10 side rather than a star player of a top ten side.

Copps is still 120/200 CA, consistancy is 12/20, just looking back through his stats and crossing is 13/20 and decisions 12/20, passing 13/20 the only ones that look high for him, a reduction of these takes his to CA 116, is this fairer? or still high in your opinion?

Woods is only 107 CA, First team regular of a mid table side, what are others thoughts on this, I feel this is about right?

I have already increased Dumbuya, now 101 CA (lower championship, top league one player, PA of 116.

Friend has CA of 99, Heading 13/20 (I had already increased this) and Tackling 12/20. Composure looks low 7/20 and anticipation 9/20. Increasing these would take him to 103, which is a bottom half championship defender, he does have a potential ability of 118 though.

As much feedback as possible will help make the game more accurate for everyone.

Cheers

Al

I thought Sheils was a bit over-rated but then I recall reading something about two footed players getting better ratings in games.

Dumbuya was under-rated but understandable really given he'd hardly played for us when the data will have been set.

Feel free not to make everyone as injury prone as last seasons reality!

I don't know why you guys thought Chambo was better than O'Connor, to be honest.

Also, are you planning on making Friend's primary position left centre half now and left back just another good one for him?

I don't have many problems with the players except those mentioned.

I found Sean O'Driscol highly under rated, guarranteed I could start a game with another team and Rovers would be relegated and he would always get the sack before april and end up joining a team like yeovil. Surely he is a little better of a manager than the stats on their claim he is as he has kept us in this division 3 times now. Leeds seem to be a dominant championship team also, always winning promotion at the first time of asking, surely a bit of fiddling going on there...

Leeds fail massively and almost always end up relegated on mine  there's no happy medium for them - they're either mixing it up in the playoffs or dead by Christmas on my game :)

Sharp probably should be increased on the basis of his scoring record

I'd second that doesn't really score much when i'm rovers or when i'm not.

Stock is generally over rated, always gets the hump on and ends up moving to west ham,

sharp is underated imo

dumbuya and friend could do with being improved as said before,

intrested to see how euell will be,

joe mills is underated some what on the game imo

SOD is underated as it has been stated before also,

for southampton jose fonte is excellent in league 1 and championship, but then i dont know how good he is in the real world.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Billy Sharp and SOD are both rated 125/200 (Billy was increased on the Jan update). Due to the  guidelines I cannot put them any higher than this. They are both the equivalent or a star in a top 6 Championship side.

I have already changed George Friend to a CB rather than a LB as his primary position.

Euell is rated at 107, first team player for a mid table championship side.

Joseph Mills has a potential rating of 120 which is a star player for a top 10 championship side.

Thanks for the feedback on O'Conner/Chambers, again I had already addressed this, JOC is 113/200, Chambers 106.
