We would get battered in the championship with the core of this team anyway so another year in league 1 with some of the dead wood gone may not be such a bad thing

Look at that bench,
That’s not butlers fault

The bench aren't the ones who have let us down though. Anderson, Wright, Halliday and Smith are all in our first eleven who should have done better.

Yes but the bench indicates the weakness of our starting 11, there’s 5 or 6 starting today who wouldn’t get in our strongest 11

I know we have injuries, but I don’t think AB is the man for the job

 :scarf:
BBC Sport Stats show Rovers  having marginally more possession.   Shots are 19/11 for Oxford and 6/1 for Rovers.   I think that our only shot on target was in the first minute from Taylor Richards.

Fej had one from inside the six yard box blocked by a defender too, but the stats people don’t count blocked shots.

Edit. A good job they don’t as well.
Oxford had about six blocked shots in one goalmouth scramble.

Horton looks to be decent, and certainly hasn't looked out of place, or panicked by his start... yet

I think we may loose a few players to Wednesday and dm when they join us in league 1 next season. Contracted players as well not just those out of contract

The only players I’d be gutted to lose would be Anderson, James, Bostock and Bogle

I'm not sure there are many of this lot we would miss.

Get used to it AB stated this is the future, won’t be using the loan market as much

Horton is a better option than Amos on tonight’s showing.

I'll say it again on Richards. Good at winning free kicks but he's not got the work rate or willingness to affect games. Nearly every pass is laboured, shots are tame and more often than not it just breaks down with him if he can't win a free kick.

He's not the only culprit tonight but this has become a pattern of his play over the last couple of months. We can't afford luxury players or manager projects in a League One promotion fight.

Where are the characters in this team? I don’t see enough now Whiteman has gone.

They all look like they are feeling sorry for themselves when we go behind. Obviously a lot of it is about ability but there’s a lot to be said for personality, character and mentality.

Could do with a few characters like that 2012-13 squad in there right now - Jones, Spurr, Quinn, Browny types.

Get used to what? You think this is intentional?

Horton played well since coming on. Been a lot better second half but that’s probs due to them taking foot off gas. Hopefully bogle, bostock, Robertson, sims, James all back Saturday cos that won’t be much easier than tonight

AB has made a few "fan friendly statements" in an attempt to win fans over. Unfortunately it will be perfomances that get him the job, or not...and we just look like we have run out of steam, and ideas. Things can change quickly though, hopefully they do - the signs are not great though.

Amos wouldn’t be near a starting 11 again for me. Not the only poor performance tonight but he was absolutely out of his league.

Fej has been their best player. How many times has he taken it off someone else's toe as they are about to shoot?

Got to give CJ a chance at CB. He looked brilliant when first on loan with us there and we have then decided to play him at LB ever since

Honest question....

As a club do you......

Continue to give a fan favourite the time to the end if the season as they said they would to prove they deserve the job or............

Show the fans they have a plan c should b not work even when he does have have fully fit team.

How many more games do you give him?

Do we put this one down to injuries? No one gave us any hope before the game

Horton and Williams did well when they came on and both deserve a start on Saturday.
Richards doesn’t seem to want to be involved until he is within 25 yards of goal.
Overall, deserved nothing from the game but at least didn’t concede after half time.

Positives: Clean sheet in the 2nd half. Clean sheets in the first and second halves against the Cobblers.
Result: 2-0! Have it!
