Pre season training
« on June 21, 2016, 08:30:17 pm by dickos1 »
Has begun with fitness testing in Leeds,
N guessan pulled out of the main test as he hurt his toe (no joke)
Curtis main arrived asking (how long will this take as I've got meetings later today)

On a seperate note paul butler has had his role changed to being in charge of recruitment

N'Guessan

Interesting about Butler, only has coaching experience and now he's expected to take control of recruitment.

I take it from those comments that Main is contractually obliged to be at training but he's currently talking to other clubs? (and apparently wants to make a point of it).

Shouldn't there be the word useless before that last word, Filo?

People forget that Butler isn't a coach - he's a sports scientist.

Having met him I would have advised him to take a job in sports science.

I have a feeling Main will be the other one leaving us this week.

I think N'guessan is just waiting until we pay him up.

Butler shouldn't be written off because he didn't play professionally, there are a lot of success stories that came through that unorthodox route.
Maybe Main can join St Mirren as well, when they are up in scotland, give him a lift up?.

I don't think anybody has written him off because he hasn't played professionally just that he isn't a coach

Trouble with that is - PDiddy thought he was a coach!

Can we get Sammy involved to help Butler in the short term with recruitment?

Do you want the club to be bankrupted?

There is a lot to be said for a squad size in the 70-80 player range. I have often thought that 22 was overly restrictive.

Does that mean Ferguson thinks he is too seeing as he kept him on in the same role?

Curtis Main has meetings does he...Try saying that to your boss...He is still being paid by Rovers and as such should do as he's bloody well told, hopefully they were with agents of other clubs so Rovers were happy to let him go to them...
How anybody can accept that man putting on a Rovers shirt again is beyond me,if he doesn't find another club I would offer him a tiny sum to end his contract else he will be training with the u8's for the rest of the season and be forgotten, before he starts his new career in plastering...:-)

What was Dickov thinking when he signed N'guessen on a ( I believe to be ) a 3 yes 3 year contract. Did he do no homework on him at all.
He should have been made to pay his wages!!!
Just about the worst signing Rovers have made in the last 40 years.
( Based on length of contract )
Can anyone think of a worse one, I would be interested to hear your opinions.

Ok was it 2 yrs are you sure ? I am not saying your wrong.
At least Steve Brooker scored 2 goals for us. N ' Guessen won't even play another game for us.
I think he only started once and came on as a sub 3/4 times. Totally shocking.

Wasn't Brooker mainly on pay to play (or not)?

How long was he injured for?  Don't get me wrong, I don't have a great opinion of his abilities - but he hasn't had too much opportunity to prove himself has he?

Who??? A total HAS BEEN and not a very good one at that. Just came to us for a wage has no interest in playing, well that's my opinion. :headbang:
