Pre-match and half-time entertainment, Scunthorpe style
« on February 28, 2020, 10:40:03 am by The Red Baron »
From Mike Sinclair's column in the Rovers' programme from November 1978.

"While Vanessa, the female impersonator who played his electric organ before the kick off and at half time at last Saturday's Rovers match at Scunthorpe might not be everyone's cup of tea, there does seem a strong case for making a visit to a football ground more of a complete day out for husband, wife and the kids."

"Exit line: The fans had gone home but the occupants of the press box were treated to the unenviable spectacle of the poor impersonator having to hitch up his skirt and clamber over the wall on to the pitch in order to get out of the Old Show Ground after the match."

Bring back Vanessa, I say!
