It depends on the caliber of the 11 players.

Vey disappointing news if we can't fend off a league 2 club. Season ticket sales will dwindle

Bennett's alright but I wouldn't mutilate my gonads in despair if he left. He's a reasonable player who has the very occasional outstanding game and the rather more often anonymous one. In other words, he's not the sort of player you're going to rely on to get you out of this division.

Good luck to the lad. He's not one we'll be reminiscing about or thinking of as one that got away a decade from now.

He may do poor in lg2 with stronger tackles flying in and poor playing surface. But its all about the pay or could be using them to get a better deal here.

Kyle may improve his consistency but as BST says to get out of this league he would not want to rely on him.

So let's hope we can sign better players then we can judge whether the club as the right ambition.

No great loss, he has had half a good season since he has been here. Says a lot about the lad if he is willing to drop down a division at his age.

Would like to keep him but not a massive loss if he goes only had half a good season in 4 years with us maybe a move will be good for him

If he was not one of the players to keep you are right.

If he was one of the players the manager wanted for next season then we should have enough to keep him, otherwise how can we get a better replacement.

I see this season as his best in a Rovers shirt, but if he and the club have been negotiating and the money isn't right then he has the right to have a look at Portsmouth's offer.
They won't stay in league two, they will climb the league's now Cook is in charge, i do feel that Kyle needs to know the manager see's him as his number one for the right wing, which hasn't always been the case when Coppinger has been fit.

It's a hard choice between the ability that Coppinger has, and the ability and pace that Kyle offers, for me i would love him to turn them down and stay, because i really think he is improving with us.

Just for the sake of argument, would you have said that to Ian Snodin say?  Or a George Best figure if we ever happened to have one? If the answer is yes, ok. Fine for principles - but how would your business survive? If the answer is no, how would you decide where the dividing line should be?

Cheers

While money is a big part of a player and rightly so,I think bennetts thinking is he will prob play week in week out at Pompey, where at the moment I don't think he deserves to here

When you listen to interviews with PD he regularly says that wingers are the most unpredictable ones in terms of position. Hence the fact we chop and change.Kyle has improved in the latter half of the season. His work rate and tracking back has improved dramatically. Have to say though if he went I wouldn't lose any sleep over him going.

I'd have liked Bennett to stay but don't think he was worth "breaking the bank" for. I reckon he wants a guarantee of first team football which he'l probably get at Pompy.

Bennett should not be allowed to hold the club to ransom. If he doesn't want what the club offers, then let him try his luck elsewhere

The price of property down there would put me off. His mortgage will go up with a bomb if he buys down there.

  anyone heard of Southsea ?

for those thaat want him to stay Portsmouth couldn't be in a better place (meaning a long long way from his wifes parents etc then they have a new child -- the missus will be away from her friends so from here it looks like a no goer  - his silly days are over messing around with that x wednesday "non scorer" of goals - hopefully )

staying will give him security and even more pitter patter of little feet ?????

soon as we knew he went to Pompey for talks he should av been shown the door and anny other player who wishes to talk to other clubs, there allways a replacement and anyone who thinks Pompey will get promoted might be proved wrong it's been proven you can't buy succes,

pd new who was out of contract at the end of season and he new well before the end of it we weren't going to make play offs,he should av sat the players he wanted to keep down back then and asked them to sighn a new deal if not then the search for replacements should av started straight away,

Difficult to start asking players to sign before the end of the season when they would still be under contract elsewhere and some of them would be concentrating on promotion or relegation with their clubs.
