soon as we knew he went to Pompey for talks he should av been shown the door and anny other player who wishes to talk to other clubs, there allways a replacement and anyone who thinks Pompey will get promoted might be proved wrong it's been proven you can't buy succes,

His contract is up, so why shouldn't he investigate new options, including staying here?

pd new who was out of contract at the end of season and he new well before the end of it we weren't going to make play offs,he should av sat the players he wanted to keep down back then and asked them to sighn a new deal if not then the search for replacements should av started straight away,

How do you know PD wasn't doing some of the background work re contracts, via agents, before the end of the season?

Many fans assume bugger all goes on behind the scenes, until news breaks publicly.

As we said last summer and the year before repeatedly, you can put a contract in front of a player and/or his agent time and time again but you cannot force him to sign.

agree idm but anny hesitation shown by players should get the club looking for someone else just incase they don't sighn, then it's straight into pre season wit players who want to be here

Kyle Bennett to Portsmouth looks like it's happening. Understand he's agreed terms, expect confirmation at Pompey end fairly soon. #drfc

I'm glad he's gone, he's not that good. He's just looked better this season because he's playing with worse players than before in a worse league. His improval is a myth. The fact him, Dean and Wabara haven't signed shows the players aren't convinced with the clubs ambition$.

Bennett has signed for Pompey because he's getting more money there. It's nowt to do with ambition. Why move down a league if its about ambition?

Bigger support base therefore can offer better wages? Simples?

PD said he wanted to keep him therefore it looks like we can't compete on wages. How are we expected to get better players if we can't keep a player who realistically was not one of our best.

It's going be interesting what players we sign, what excuses we make this year when we don't get our first choice players and we don't sign players until the end again.

Our support is declining, finances will be declining therefore will the owners and CEO accept what part they have to play in this by lack of ambition.

Paul Dickov tells me Kyle Bennett likely to join Portsmouth. Says he shook hands with Bennet on a deal, says agents have had impact #DRFC

He said that before when we have failed to sign players. This is football now, there could be more like this before the season starts.

No doing the best for him and his family. As any body would do if offered more than one job.

Dickov very much pissed off at Bennett in the radio Sheffield interview I've just heard.

What's the answer when you add

a.Bennett in the last year of his contract
B.Bennett puts in improved performances

Answer - shop window!

I would suggest that on a 3 year contract he'll do bugger all for at least 22 months

He can play when he wants to play. That attitude stinks. I remember that footage of him smashing up stuff in the away dressing room at Brentford in apparent "celebration." Good luck to the lads though. He will need it.

Does it mean Chesterfield cant compete on wages and have no ambition.

To say he's not that good is untrue. Some of the goals he has scored this season were fantastic. I thought he looked much improved this season and, maybe because of his family life, he looked much more settled.

He is good, it's just that for 75% of his contract here he was stealing a wage and had a poor attitude, it's only this last season he's pulled his finger out, for that he owed us big time!

Sounds like he's blanked Dickov for the past couple of days and Dickov had to text him to get an answer back saying he's going to Portsmouth. Bit of a joke from Bennett.

Forrester is probably leaving but he had the courtesy to give us another year after his injury and he's earned respect for that. Bennett on the other hand has 3 years of being shit and 1 decent season then he pisses off in search of more money. That's not a good way to part.

Did Dickov say he had to text Bennett or his agent?

Seriously?  If you have reason to think he is going, why not say why?  It's a fair question...
