It will be a brave supporter that could pick our starting line up this weekend and put their mortgage on it.
Are the two new signings even eligible to play?

While a few grand in prize money would be nice, overall, do we really want to be lingering in the cup much longer given the way the fixtures are mounting up?

It's on the FA Player. No idea if you can get on that on their website, but it's an app. If you've bought England tickets before, you can use the same login you used for that. It's free but you need an account.

Just downloaded the app and set up an account but tried to login only to get a message that "they cannot find my account". It's a bit of a circus signing up to be honest so I'd recommend not leaving it until two o'clock on Saturday to get it sorted!

Edit :finally got in to the page only to find the cup ties are only available in the UK

Try a VPN? If you don't normally use one and probably won't again, find one that's got a money back guarantee.

Wayne Rooney and Derby's first-team squad will miss Saturday's third-round FA Cup tie at Chorley following the coronavirus outbreak which closed their training ground on Monday.

The Rams team for the game at Victory Park will be made up of under-23 and under-18 players.

Under-23 coaches Pat Lyons and Gary Bowyer are likely to take charge. from bbc how many more team team on Saturday will have to do this

I read somewhere in the last few days (on here I think) that if a team fails to fulfill an FACup fixture then they forfeit the tie.
Apparently SWFC have COVID in their camp and might not be able to put a team out against Exeter.
No mention though that the FA would give Exeter a bye to R4.
Are Wednesday the big club here and maybe Exeter won’t get the bye.

Villa struggling , Shrewsbury off, derby playing there under 23 and 18 players , more fixture congestion is not good.

Fixture congestion is great for us as long we aren't involved would love to see hull and Peterborough have to catch up 4 games in the last month and lose them all and drop out of the playoffs

According to DM we won’t have all the squad available for the game on Saturday. Players who had Covid are returning to training on different days. He also said, whether tongue in cheek, that we won’t have enough players to fill the nine substitutes we are allowed.

There looked to be at least 20 training yesterday to me!

It is was it is..If the majority of the lads who have had covid cant play and we have to play people out of position to put a team out so be it.. Theres no pressure, we are a good second favourites for this one at the best of times.

Almost impossible as you say

Start with Bew Whiteman - will he have gone ? Or will he have been promised to a Team ? If there are Clubs sniffing round they will already know what his potential is so would we risk playing him ?

Or least likely of the 4 scenarios - will he have agreed to stay till end of Season and be our Capt Fantastic in a game where a win would be good for the coffers

So I can only pencil 1 player in for sure - Balcombe

If Ben is deemed to be “injured” I would be thinking that a move might be imminent .

But he could be one of those that had covid and not recovered yet

Of course that could be the case, but I just said what I would be thinking.

Wolfie, being a cup game Jones could start, and really deserves the chance  IMHO.m  If it was a league game I think Balcombe would definitely start.
An interesting choice to be made.

I think Balcombe  will start so he will have at least played with the back 4 before we start the next league game

If Balcombe has trained with the club and is seen to be the better keeper of the two then fair enough, although I don't take it for granted just because he has played in England age group teams and plays for Brentford  he is the better keeper.
We employ professional coaches and management teams that see them training and playing every day, and would hope that they would pick the player who has trained the best and shows the better form, not just on reputation and because he  comes from a club in a higher division.

does that mean no new positives. Or the lads who were positive have now recovered quickly, and are now negative?

“We have seven what I would call first team injuries plus two COVID absentees”.
That is just Mowbray getting his excuses in early in case we win.
