Isn’t it typical. We get Man U or Liverpool when we have little chance of actually playing them because we will probably have to win away at West Ham.

Come on Stockport pull off a massive shock tonight please.

Losing to West Ham is not a given.  We will see on either 24th or 25th of January, that’s if they best Stockport.
Come on Ben you know it makes sense to stay you could be playing your boy hood club.

What is it with us getting drawn away from home in every round.
Unbelievable Jeff.
Not only that, but away at a North-West side in every round too (ignoring the possibility that West Ham could win).

The best scenario is West Ham have to forfeit, due to COVID (not that I’m wishing ill of anyone) :s ;)

Who is his boyhood club? He is from Rochdale. Was he a Man U fan?
I suppose Rochdale is full of them.

Maybe I’m overthinking it or just trying to be optimistic about the draw but I think West Ham are certs in this game and if/when they play us could it be more of an incentive for us than them to play Man U or Liverpool in the next? If it had been a relatively easy next round then they might fight tooth & nail as they could see a quarter final place whereas Man U or Liverpool might convince them a quarter final place is a lost cause as they can’t beat the next opponents, whereas we’d be desperate to play them for the experience? I might be wrong & just a thought but at least it’s a positive one, even if we can’t be at London stadium or old Trafford/anfield!  :headbang: :headbang:

He came through the youth ranks at Man Utd.

Every chance West Ham will play a weakened team against us. So you never know.
I did predict we would get one of the big 6 away this season because we would not be able to go to the match.

Their weakened team tonight doesn't look too shabby!

what an incentive to win Liverpool or man u

Why is it an incentive, other than prize money, when we can't be there?

We just knew this would happen.

Do you not think the players want to test themselves at Anfield or Old Trafford, against one of the best sides in the country? It would be fantastic.

Sounds like lots of standing water proving to be a real leveller. At this rate the only goals to be scored will be from the spot.

Perhaps a double blow missing Olympic /London Stadium AND Anfield  or OT if Stockport win tonight and then beat us too

I’m sure I read somewhere that if teams couldn’t fulfil an FA Cup fixture because of COVID then they would have to forfeit the tie.
We could always hope.......

It has to be Stockport in the next round, so our boys can play in the shadow of a Rovers legend...in front of the Danny Bergara Stand
