It seems way worse today than it was pre-covid in my opinion .

Whether there's a link between all those lock downs I don't know , possibly .

It doesn't excuse it mind by any means .

There's defiantly a significant increase in football related disorder this season and I've seen some very unsavoury scenes following games at Oakwell this season , the first home game against Coventry was especially problematic .

If this doesn't stop then the police are going to have to bring in some of the old measures from the 80's and 90's .

Away fans kept back , police escorts from coaches and train stations and fans kept apart in pubs more robustly .

I take the point the innocent will suffer but this can't be allowed to continue either .

Something terrible is going to happen before too long if it's not stopped .

A stabbing or someone dying simply because of a random punch or punches .

Only a matter of time in my opinion .

Just to add , what gets me about my club is that the majority of us know who our nob heads are .

Around 200 of em who stand ( not sit ) to the far right of the South Stand .

Almost every game something happens with this lot .

Yet they are allowed to buy match tickets or ST's every year .

If we can point them out then why doesn't my club ?

I'll tell you why possibly , money , simple as that .

I stopped going to away games 4 seasons ago because of our idiot fans. Some of them have absolutely no respect for others, doling our abuse to our own supporters, blocking others’ view, chucking flares etc. It’s part of the malaise of football as far as I’m concerned.

I went to the Blackpool away game in September and took our lass .

It was a dreadful experience to say the least .

If I go away from now on its going to be a game down South where our nob heads are diluted and it's the true diehards who will be in attendance .

Forest Green could be good next season .

And today we’ve had Leicester City fans trying to fight Forest players. Time an example needs to be set and away fans banned from travelling or making teams play in empty stadiums

I'm of the same mindset. The further away the game, the less likely the knobs will go and the more likely the genuine fans will. Unless it's either a huge game with a lot riding on it in which case a lot of the knobs will just turn up for those but not the run of the mill games at the likes of Cheltenham etc.

Just seen that. Some f**king stone island neanderthal. I fully support the players sending a few lefts and rights in the opposite direction and dropping these cnuts in the middle of the pitch.

Seen this so many times over the years.
Most of the wannabe hooligans are just that. Hide behind lines of cops while giving it the big un. Throw expletives across an area of segregation. Knowing full well they are safe.
Truth is, the vast majority would run a mile if the chips were down. And shat the, selves whilst at it.
I don’t condone any violence, unless it’s in defence. But the vast majority of these idiots have no class. No code. No honour.
If they genuinely want a tear up, f**k off outside town away from the game and crack on. It’s not hard  to arrange with social media. The fact they don’t tells you everything about them you need to know.

I've always had huge respect for Eric Cantona for what he did to that Palace fan with the kung fu kick. These pieces of filth deserve it.

I told my sons many years ago that they will come across some of the lowest forms of life at football matches thankfully these are a minority but we all get tarred with the same brush. I’ve stopped going away as I’m embarrassed by the conduct of some of my team’s supporters, at home games I can choose where I sit. Unfortunately this behaviour has been going on for years the majority of offenders have not experienced an example of decency  in their home life.

My brother who has had open heart surgery 2 had the same experience as yourself and stopped going to away games. Apparently the kids that were drinking until the start of the game and then piled in to their position at the expense of a disabled boy and his mother. My brother tried to get the kids to respect the lady and her kid but they wouldn't have it. So my brother had a word with a police officer. The PC declined to even have a word with the offenders.

The result was my 81year old brother stopped going to away games.

And I’ve seen video on Twitter of these Leicester City fans giving it large and causing trouble in Nottingham before the game. Football has got to act now before it becomes like it was in the 70’s and 80’s.

I went to a Derby v Forest game a few years ago, might have been 4 years? Derby won 3-0 but what set me back a bit whilst walking outside the ground was the appearance of 2 or 3 Double decker bus loads of Forest fans arriving at the ground. They were shouting, screaming, banging at the windows, hanging out of the windows. Like caged animals. Shocking sight. Just the sheer aggression and anger was unbelievable.

Wednesday’s have been at it all season. A few years away from this league, filling everywhere out and playing some clubs they’ve never played/never will for a long time has had them taking the piss all season.

No doubt if they don’t go up (Darren Moore  ) those little clubs will have more and more locals out next season when Wednesday’s go their town I’m retaliation to this.

Can someone translate this please?
There appears to be huge confusion between the first and third person's...

Over the past hour I’ve read a number of threads and on each you have tried to belittle someone for either their opinion or grammar. It’s a forum for people to have an opinion, not everyone excels at the written word, focus on contributing to discussion as opposed to demeaning others.

Absolutely disgusting! But I think unfortunately it's not just a football issue it's a societal issue that is affecting the whole country.

You would think after the last few years we have been through we would be taking the chance to be kinder to each other and respect what we have. Unfortunately it seems to be going further and further the other way.

Not football related but i read a piece on Sky news (for my sins - i don't make a habit of it lol) from an academic who claimed that the Covid lockdowns actually saved many lives of young people. But not from Covid. His reasoning was that before Covid, each weekend in towns and cities across the UK, people are subjected to drunken attacks and many people are maimed and killed due to this senseless violence that seems to proliferate society these days.

IMO You lot who on here who feel it necessary to express yourselves by using foul language  (OK by missing out the odd vowel) are not far behind the ones you are criticising.

I disagree to a certain extent GR. Is there a rule on the forum that foul language will not be tolerated? If so then you have a point. If not then it's free speech. I swear a lot on here but when i'm out and about i generally refrain from it as i consider it socially inappropriate in most cases. I always watch what i'm saying in front of youngsters and have sworn (by accident) twice in 13 years in front of my kid.

There is a bloke in the West Stand who wears a baseball cap,  nearer the end where the away fans are who stands up and shouts F**K OFF!! or BELL END!! randomly at the top of his voice at most home games to the away fans and i can hear it. That makes me cringe with embarrassment for the bloke. There are kids near him too. So i guess it is about context and a person having an acute sense of self awareness of his / her surroundings when deciding or not to use industrial language. In short, having half a brain cell.

Oddly enough he never shouts it at the Rovers players for being shite. It always seems to be the away fans to blame for some reason. Or the ref of course.

Swearing is equivalent to running on a pitch and assaulting someone? I suggest you have a cold shower.

Leicester fans decided to throw chairs and tables at a Nottingham restaurant today with what appears to be kids and families in. Very bizarre.
