This signing worries me if I’m honest. He last played regularly in the 18/19 season. He’s had injuries of late too. I sincerely hope I’m wrong and bangs a load in but this signing reminds me of a Bruce Dyer or Darren Byfield type of signing, meaning they were previously good players with great pedigree but in the twilight of their careers. And they didn’t work out.
Like I say, I hope I’m wrong and hope there are 2 more strikers to come in to compliment him. We can’t have Dodoo, Hiwula or Barlow as first choice starters if we want to achieve anything.

This signing, plus Seaman coming back brings new energy to the team. It presents GM with better options and a chance to stir things up a little.

Hiwula perhaps needs to step back a little and regroup. I'm sure GM won't give up on him and will do everything to get the player out of him. We don't want to be wasting the pace he has in his locker but he needs something to get him out of the rut he's in.

Given the position we find ourselves, this lad seems a good acquisition.

This is good. Some planning for next season at last. A free also.
I’ll judge him on performances.
He should have enough wool his back to help influence some of the younger players.

He will certainly improve us, however I have some reservations about signing him on an 18 month contract given his career trajectory of late.
Any Player of any type of standing will not accept a six month contract, you've got to offer a bit of a carrot to get players in, else you get Thomas and Bingham. It seems the club are damned if they do damned if they don't with some.

Realistically we are down. There is no logic to sign anyone for 6 months.

If we can get a decent number on contracts until the end of next year, it saves the need for high turnaround at summer, and each player can be evaluated next season.

Agreed and he is our player, not on loan, so we won’t have to search again in the summer.

If he scores enough to keep us up this season then great!

If not then he'll surely be a good asset for next season in League 2.

Think this is a good signing, we need experience and he knows the league but what he will do is graft and put effort in.

Never seemed to be the same player since he could not agree terms with Leeds in 2014 after the club agreed terms with Rotherham he then went to Bristol City and seemed to struggle

Agard accepted a 5 month contract at Plymouth

It’s a good addition as long as we complement that with more good additions, and fast. We need more than one new player to be able to compete on Saturday, and then we have a huge game at Cambridge on Tuesday. We need at least one or two more by then. And another one or two by the end of the window. That’s not being greedy, it’s realism.

Solid signing. Not of the standard to keep us up but i don't think those players exist in any attainable sense. Also if he stays fit you can see him scoring plenty in L2.

Need to work on our supply into the forwards now it can't always be the forwards fault for not scoring.

Good signing. Lots of experience and a decent goals per games ratio.

Get everyone fit we should give league 2 a right go next season.

We need further signings to be better than the likes of Barlow Dodoo Horton and Bogle if we are to stay up.
This for me is a start.

Defensive midfield destroyer an absolute priority. And a quality left back not far behind him, in terms of priority.

Signing just Agard doesn’t exactly improve anything as we’re hardly getting into the final third, never mind creating chances. An improvement on Cukur, granted, but the wife would have been an improvement on him.

Surprised to see the only time he played against us was last Sept for 2 mins plus added time.

Good signing. Lots of experience and a decent goals per games ratio.

His goals per game average is only a bit worse that that of Marquis.
3.62 against 3.15

It's definitely a good signing on paper.

Just need to provide for him. That's the next issue.

If he's lucky enough to avoid injuries, this is a decent signing.

He's certainly in a different league to Cukur, Dodoo, Hiwula , and Bogle.

Let's just hope he doesn't turn into Hiwula. Hiwula was a good signing too.

Great news, hopefully his signing will encourage others, without a striker where would the wins we need come from?

I've been  a big critic of Hiwula (due to his lack of effort) that doesn't mean he can't turn it around. Vilca & Cukur can't have been much of an inspiration or competition team wise...maybe an uplift in quality around him can bring his levels up too.

Agree with this. Hiwula has been really disappointing but if he sorts out his confidence he could come good. Not sure how we go about sorting his issues out it looks like it'll take a bit of time away from the side and a fresh start imo

I don't think that's right at all. He scored plenty for Bristol City that year as they got promoted, he had another double figure scoring season in League One at MK and then scored 20 odd goals for them in League Two. We wouldn't balk at those goal returns now in either league.

It sounds like he will bring some leadership as well as (hopefully) goals. We just need to be able to create the chances now - great signing though
