Can only think because he had an inability to move when the ball was on top of him, wether he panicked and just took his eyes away as husband was getting booted!

Thats why we have lino's to assist, an extra pair of eyes, although the West stand lino had the eyesight of Stevie Wonder

The ref had his back to it but the lino should have had a clear view of Husbands leg getting taken from under him. Thought D'urso had a poor game today

Eyesight of Stevie Wonder, and seemed to have the wider concept of football explained to him by Helen Keller with mittens on. His main introduction to the game was getting tackled by a plastic bag.

Directly after missing the penalty he then missed two fouls on the edge of the area in front of him, then spent the rest of the game dodging litter and decisions.

Yeah the lino was still a good 10 yards infield for that one. Poor.

He should retire if he can't call simple decisions like that. Very difficult to dive backwards. Appalling officiating.

He was awful wasn't he, as was the lino. Both teams probably cost goals by the pisspoor officiating.

I heard that,  even they were saying it was a stonewall penalty now as they could see it from the other end of the stadium but Mr D'Urso couldn't from 6 inchs

Something that EVERYONE on the forum will agree on today. He was shite! Stonewall penalty, and I think he disallowed Barnsley's second 'goal' just to even things up

I don't think the ref could've seen the penalty but the linesman should have. Ref wasn't great but was struggling with his "assistance"

The ref was in the bloody way. That was the problem. If he hadn't been, we wouldn't have needed a penalty because Husband would've had a free shot on goal.

It was precisely because he was in the way that he had to turn his back to try to shift which caused him to miss the foul.

That bald clacker of a lino on the weststand was just as bad.  Awful officials.  I hope the refs assessor puts them both out to pasture and not allow them to be inflicted on any more unsuspecting togger fans

That's how I saw it.  He was unsighted for a split second so didn't see what everyone else in the ground saw.  That includes two linesmen, who are in contact by microphone.   It would have been obvious to the ref that he had missed something due to his poor positioning.  Instead of ignoring it, what he should have done was asked for assistance from the two linesmen via the microphone.  I know they were both a fair distance away, but either of them could have helped him out by saying the word "penalty" and the correct decision could then have been made.

Dickov said that the 4th official told the ref via microphone that it was a penalty

I don't think that the 4th official is allowed to make those sort of calls?  However, the linesmen certainly are, and one of them should surely have been able to help him out.

only going on what Dickov said in his Radio Sheffield interview, he also said the same on the FL show
