Look i love JR he has done wonders for this club, but he isnt perfect nobody is, im really not trying to slag him off here but he HAS made mistakes like trying to gain compensation for any opposition player that fouls one of ours and saying how safe SODs job was only for him to be sacked 2 days later. He must take some responsibilty for this failing too. However i will continue to support JR and DRFC :rtid:

ONly snag with that idea RoversAlias is that the Muppet has a 3 year contract. Do you really think Rovers can afford to pay him off now? I am terribly afraid he's going to be with us for a while yet....

It would be interesting to know which of the three equal owners was the muppet who decided to give an inexperience manager a three year contract.

I suppose not Bob. I don't know the ins and outs of Saunders' contract and I don't know what it would look like if we weighed up the financial implications of compensating Saunders versus relegation to League 2 in a years time. Might be something worth considering though.

If Saunders had any balls about him he'd do the decent thing and resign and not expect the remainder of his contract played up.

It'll never happen though, the mans a cowardly hopeless buffoon who probably cant believe his luck that he fell into this Job.

No-one in their right mind would do that. Can you name ANY manager who has done that?

I have asked the same question. Strange that nobody has come back with any names isn't it!!!

I can't imagine there are many, but didn't Steve McLaren do something like that at Forest?

We shouldn't lose hope.

Gordon Strachan left 'Boro without compensation I believe too.

In both season we won only two games, we have lost ten instead of eleven last year, if Dean fails to inspire his team to another win in the last five games then John how as a team with better players failed to win more games. Unfortunately it may cost you money but if you are being consistant but let's start the new season with a new manager who can manage in division one. Dean has A lot to prove to match his belief how good he is.

Whether JR made the mistake or not, the important thing is that we get rid of this numpty sooner rather than later. If he won't resign put him on a disciplinary of some kind and place him on gadening leave like the Dingles did with Robins, he eventually left without compensation.  >:(

its impossible to put saunders on gardening leave. unless of course its willie mckays garden that he intends to spend more time in.

I'm glad someone like Hoola has the guts to actually come out and speak what they feel is the truth regarding John Ryan. What nobody seems to realise is that it is possible to criticise one decision of JR's without meaning that you're slating everything or decrying his impact over the last 13-14 years.

Ryan does in some people's opinions need to hold his hands up and admit he pushed the panic button and made a bad decision in bringing in Saunders and McKay. That does not mean that the people saying this appreciate the great man any less than all of the other fans who stand by him through any and all decisions he makes.

I am glad and delightfully grateful that John Ryan is our chairman and has been for almost all of my time supporting the club. But I was firmly against his decision to parachute Saunders and McKay in whilst unceremoniously kicking SOD/ROK out on gardening leave. I then gave this whole experiment a chance and was coming round to it for a while but now I believe we need to all admit that it has not worked. I'd like us to start afresh, Ryan at the top and a new manager at the helm. Doesn't mean I don't love the man or appreciate all his great work for us any less.

JR does not have to say f**k all!

He thought outside the box and I admire that!

And when McLaren resigned, Forest's chairman resigned also. Do you want the same scenario at Rovers? That would be very unhelpful.
