Title: The Road to Wembley (Second attempt !)

Well as you will know our first attempt was pretty dismal with the last 2 survivors being knocked out when Lincoln beat Brighton ! No MrFrostsDad this year !

So I am either mad / have a slate loose / making a rod for my own back (delete as appropriate) but I have dreamed up a different Competition for those who may be interested - which may not be many

Listed below are the 8 Ties for the next Round - so simply "quote" the 8 Games and pick the Team from each Tie that WILL be in the following Round. In addition choose the score that they will eventually win by - so that will be 8 scores too !

You can choose to make it a bit easier by waiting to see if Leicester beat Derby or vice versa (Feb 8) but please enter (or edit) your selections up until the first game kicks off on (probably) Feb 17th

Scoring will be a Point for every Game you predict correctly and a bonus 5 Points if you correctly pick any one score of the 8 right. I will do an entry below which I wont alter even if Derby beat Leicester

No problem - I needed something to take my mind off my abysmal record of late in Super6 !

I will vary the scoring method in the following Round(s) when I have dreamed up something appropriate !

Great - at least I have the "comfort of starting" with 8 Teams after Leicester finally overcome Derby

Everyone else - 8 days to go and Leicester are through - get them on if interested of course

If we only get 15 entries from 1000 members there may be an enquiry - and it might draw the conclusion that my Comp is s***e (something I could not bear as I am really trying - honest)

As promised I have finally got round to working through all the FA Cup results and here are the Leaders and the rest of the "pack". In a day or 2 I will devise the next Rounds rules and at least that should be simpler

Please check your own personal score as I have found it is very easy to cock up when scoring. Remember its a Point for each of the Teams you predicted would win and a bonus 5 Points if you got any match score right as well. However you get that bonus only once so colfromdonny and andysly each had 3 scores right but get only 5 bonus points

Most people got 6 points having Burnley to beat Lincoln and Leicester to beat Millwall

Moving swiftly on ! Rules / Scores for Quarter Finals

All predictions to be made before the KO of the first game (Boro v City)

Predict the ultimate winner of the 4 Ties below and get a Point for each correct one.

Get a bonus 5 points for the correct score of each Tie. Remember there are no replays so if the game goes to Extra Time that is the Score I will give 5 Bonus Points for .

If you think a Tie will go to Penalties simply put Pens instead of a score and you will get 8 Bonus Points for that prediction

So as an example just put ....

Spurs 3-0
Chelsea Pens

True ..... extract of "Rules" with chance of an extra 3 Points if anyone predicts Penalties !

Get a bonus 5 points for the correct score of each Tie. Remember there are no replays so if the game goes to Extra Time that is the Score I will give 5 Bonus Points for .

If you think a Tie will go to Penalties simply put Pens instead of a score and you will get 8 Bonus Points for that prediction

Well that final Tie altered things a lot ..... with the Pie I promised him if he won beginning to crumble in the fingers of colfromdonny ..... and the 1-0 was one of the least predicted of results !

So there were just 3 "types" of score - those who got it completely wrong - those who got the result right for a point - and the 2 people who said 1-0 for 6 points (take a bow - stevebarrass and andysly)

When those points are added in the Scoreboard looks like this :

Spot on - the scoring was (is) so complicated it took me ages. I expected to have c****d up at least one and hope he/ they would come knocking

OK the Semis are closing in and its time to launch the Semi Final scoring system ... Simples ... Predict the Winner of each tie for 2 Points. Then choose one Score / method of winning

Get a further 5 (a la Super 6) for the correct WINNING score after 90 Minutes. (State 90)

Or if you think a Team will win after Extra Time get an extra 8 Points (not 5) by predicting the score after Extra Time (State AET)

Or if you think a Team will go through on Penalties get a bonus 10 Points (not 5 or 8) by selecting (P) after your Team selection

So picking the Team should be the easiest bit but then its more difficult to say when they will win / and by what score / or how and you have to make just ONE choice for each Tie ... and so your entry must look like these. examples :

Chelsea 2-1 (90)
or
Chelsea  2-1(AET)
or
Chelsea (P)

Man City 1-0 (90)
or
Man City 4-1 (AET)
or
Man City (P)

Remember you just need to predict the winner of each tie and then opt for just one selection of when / how they will win the game. If you pick a score but dont specify 90 / AET I will do a Ladbrokes and call the Bet after 90 minutes

OK .... its the FA Cup Final Arsenal v Chelsea at last and with the scores above being relatively close I reckon the following Points will mean the Winner can come from a long way down

First Half

Select who will be leading at Half Time and get 5 Points if you get it right (Select A / C / or D (for Draw)
Pick the score your Team will be leading by at Half Time or the score if you have opted for the Draw and get 10 extra Points to add to your 5

Second Half.

Select who will be leading at Full Time and get 5 Points if you get it right (Select A / C / D (for Draw)
Pick the score your Team will be leading by at Half Time or the score if you have opted for the Draw and get 10 extra Points to add to your 5

Extra Time / Penalties

If you selected Draw at 90 Minutes (well done) - there may be a few of you though so ....
Select which Team will have won at the end of Extra Time C / A / D (for Draw) and get 10 Points if you are right

If you again selected Draw (even weller done !) simply pick the Team that will win on Penalties C / A and get 10 more Points to add to the massive total you must have racked up That should do it !

However though we probably wont need a tie breaker I will take no chances so nominate any Goal scorer from either Team to score any time up to the end of Extra Time

Then if a Tie Breaker is needed I will award the Competition win to the person whose nominated Scorer had the highest odds with William Hill on the morning of the Match so do you play safe with Hazard or Costa or risk Laurent Koscielny ?
