Does this mean we wont be getting Lundstram for the rest of the season? or just an extra body?

Does this mean 'signed' as in has signed a proper contract, or 'signed' as in is on a month or two's loan?

Thanks

I also see though that the South African national team has a World Cup qualification match on Saturday 23 March vs Central African Republic in Cape Town. If picked that would rule him out v Scunny so not much use in very short term for us.

He's contracted at Oldham, so could only be a loan. And why would Oldham let him go, especially him being captain, at this stage in their season with them very close to relegation?

Furman and Lundstram  will be probably our centre two, with Syers and Howieson. Also Woods as. Back up to the backup. When the loan window shuts end of March that's it. With Keegan and Woods not available we need at least one player,
Furman on loan to the end of the season then permanent could be the answer?

We had to play Copps at CM the other day, so I assume we'll have both Lundstram and Furman. Furman is great at just sitting back so would allow Lundstram more license to get forward.

If we had both Furman and Lundstram in the centre of the park my confidence for our push to the Championship would be raised even further!

Would love to see this player sign on a permanent deal in the summer, he looks like the real deal.

Interesting comments on the Oldham forum, most very happy for him to go saying he's a poor captain and has poor decision making. Could be its just not happening for him there and in the right set up he'll blossom?

Assuming he's needed till Syers is fit and for experienced cover. Likely to be a loan with a view to a poss signing at the end of the season depending on how he performs.

They said the same when we signed Wellens.

And there are folk on here who think that Coppinger, Green, Heffernan, Paynter, Quinn, G Roberts, etc, etc are/were no good.

To be fair Furman is one or those players who people think are shite because they don't do spectacular things. He's just a tackle and sidewards pass kind of guy.

I'm liking it and like the rest, hope this confirmed as an addition to Lundstram staying for the rest of the season.

Donny is above his level for me

Nearly choked on my tea. What a humbling high regard we're held in by some.

Anyway, Furman sounds to me like a Stock type player. Stocky joined us aged 24/25 (like Furman) after not tearing any trees up with PNE and went on to be generally a success here by doing the simple things well.

Hope it's true!  :scarf:

To be fair, if a player is rumoured to leave a club he automatically becomes an awful footballer who won't do anything for the other club. From what I've seen of him he's a steady player and from all accounts was South Africa's best player in the AFCON.

He might not be anything special but apart from Harper, how many signings have Saunders/Flynn got wrong so far? He'll be a good signing imo if it's true.
