It really is good news on George and I think we’ve missed him this season.
(I’d still like Max back next year, though).
Pick the bones out of those 3, GM!

Where does George fit in to McCann’s system?
As a centre forward or a wide forward?
This will have a bearing on whether we sign Biamou or not.
-
Will need 3 good strikers for a promotion push , all offer something a bit different to the other. Miller has been missed and will be like a new signing. Biamou should be a real handful with a full pre season under him judging on what we've seen so far

Can’t play Miller as a lone striker same as you can Joe and Max
Really would need to tweak the system if George plays
It could work say last 15 mins of a game when you are holding a lead.
Just get it played into the channels for him to chase and harry defenders while you soak up pressure
Probably a 4-3-1-2 or even the good old fashioned 4-4-2 which I don’t see us playing would suit George’s game best.
Even Simon Weaver at Harrogate Town has abandoned that system after about first half of their 1st season in League 2.
He played 4-4-2 for year on year in NLN & NL and it worked a treat.
Dave Penney only ever played 4-4-2 even in League 1 with us
It’s gone almost totally out of fashion in the EFL although some teams still play it in the National League and NLN

Think he has another year. The fact that GM has said he will be available for pre season training would suggest that.
-
George was givingn. a three year contract upon arrival .. so yes he is contracted till June 2025 .
-
As GM said last week at the meet the management team meeting George has been back on the grass for the last month now, he will be like a new signing if back to full fitness and confidence.

I remember agreeing with you on this last season.
His first touch and aerial ability isn’t good enough to be a lone striker at this level. Then I’m not sure he has the skill to play wider.
But I do like his tenacity and ability to sniff out chances. Potentially an option if McCann wants the flexibility to go back to a 3-5-2 at any point.
Given his recent injuries it may actually be wise having 3 options. Playing off Ironside or Biamou he would be very effective.
