RUFC v DRFC u23’s
« on October 15, 2019, 05:46:40 pm by Alan Southstand »
Rotherham won 3-2, but with a much more experienced side.

Positives:

Myring is still with us and he scored a peach of a goal, apparently, and hit the crossbar with the score at 3-2. Also, from Rigo’s blog, it appears Myring ‘scored’ after being clattered by their keeper, but the ref had already blown for a foul! So, he could have had 3.

Watters gave us a 1-0 lead. Despite Myring’s game above, it appears Watters was the pick of the bunch.

Negatives:

We lost, fair enough
No Boocock, no Gibbons, no Horton and no Jones (all on loan)

Alan, they like last week could have games with their loan clubs tonight. coupled with the u18's  winning and the u16's winning 5-0 away at Chesterfield on Sunday things are slowly improving.

Sounds very much like the crap a cup game the other week.

Myring sounds like he could be worth a contract.

Moore said he didn't want to put the 1st team squad in as he wanted to spend more time with them training hopefully it pays off this weekend

It isn't crap at all, fielding younger and inexperienced sides against older stronger players is to stretch our players, and get them to a higher level quicker, make them realise the level they have to attain, and give them confidence that they can compete, and give our coaches the chance to see if they can reach the required level.
The result is not that important, great to win if they can, but not the be all and end all.

Boocock played for Frickley last night, Horton and Gibbons were in the Gainsborough squad.

I guess Jones and Bottomley may have been training with the first team.
