He’s a good lad. A bit of the James Husband about him. Slight but deadly. Hope he can get a proper run and stay fit. A good hit rate by the Scottish scout we had on board for two months - one signing, one success. Retire happy.

One of the few who I'd have kept, although I'm actually a bit surprised as it feels like McCann hasn't always seen him as first choice. Good news though.

He’s the one out of contract player I’d have gone all guns blazing for, so delighted he’s signed. A definite asset who’ll go onto bigger and better things, hopefully with DRFC.

Happy with that, one of the very few I wanted us to keep

With James and Jack Senior, we've got 2 excellent young left backs.

Good player no doubting that, he needs a consistent run for sure. In the modern game you need two at least to rotate during games.

Yeah not young but 2 good options to have. Maxwell is better going forward for me and Senior more solid defensively so can be a horses for courses option.

Two players for every position. If that’s the case then better to have two differing players to open up options, even if both fit.

Fingers cross he stays injury free the rest of the season and then has a full season next year. One of the good ones even when we’ve been dire I don’t think he’s let us down

Pleased with this , for a young lad never shirks a challenge and improving all the time. We always seem to miss him when he's not in the side as he gives us good balance down the left.

Worth mentioning Senior as well - that’s 2 decent left backs for the start of next season.

Only Sterry, so far, at right back.

3 centre backs, currently, in Olowu, McGrath and Anderson.

Some work to do in midfield, definately. Only Bailey and Broadbent for next season, as things stand.

Up top we have an injured Miller, Ironside, Hurst.

Keepers are Jones, Lawlor & Bottomley but there’s got to be some sorting in that department, also.

When on summarising on iFollow it was obvious that he could read the game well and comes through in the way he plays.

A decent player and keen to do better, just what we need, well done for getting the job done.

Compared to BB and Wolfie, that's very young. In fact, he's only 10 years younger than me.

With Maxwell being better going forward and Senior better defensively. I wonder if Grant will do a Brian Flynn tactic of playing one in front of the other particularly away from home. It certainly worked well having Tommy Spurr in behind James Husband way back when.

It's a good option to have. Just great to have two competing right backs and as you say, both have strengths and weaknesses to work on.

We need to achieve the same with the left back position and wonder if Nixon is a possibility in the summer. All action and energy, will run his blood to water but probably lacks a bit of finesse going forward. By contrast, Sterry seems more cultured in the final third but lacks the same tenacity when defending.

Very rare , at our level to find full backs who excel at both defending and attacking in equal measure, so we have to work on polishing rough diamonds. James Husband didn't do too bad did he despite his occasional hot headedness.

If you hold your hands in front of you and hold your thumb at a right angle to your forefinger, the left hand looks like an “L”. That’s how you can tell left from right.
