1961 eh Jeez, didn't Felix Motors do them as well as Blue Line ? I seem to remember those burgundy buses as well coming through Hatfield on the Thorne Rd. corridor.......fair few years later mind ;)

It's the way forward ! However, to make it more effective and attractive some one has got to get heads together and sort out the traffic problems leaving the stadium, making sure these buses get priority in getting away.

Ah travelled on Rovers Express MANY MANY times as a lad from Stainy.

I still have a poster somewhere in my collection that they used to put in the windows advertising the next game. Its \"priceless\" but I may donate it (or a copy of it) to The Toad if they start to build a collection of such memorabilia

Used to go to Rovers with my dad and he would always go at the side of the players tunnel at BV of course and I always stood behind the Goal Rovers were attacking

One game v Chesterfield the ball went out near the tunnel and was brilliantly taken above his head by the old man - and later at the Town End yours truly fielded an absolute beauty without as much as a fumble. The odds on Father and Son catching a ball apiece in different parts of a Ground would be astronomical. (Even Adge would have given me 33/1 lol)

Before the Cheltenham game I made a trip across the Pitch at OBV and thought of the old man - and thanked his spirit for introducing me to Football and Rovers particularly. I was near to tears - and that was BEFORE the bloody game !

Donnywolf... can you scan and post that match advert you have . I remember them on the Felix and Blue Line local  service buses .The club should reinstate them and put them on PostOffice and pub doors too!

Sure thing

Send me a PM and I will scan it at work and send it to you - then you can post on here if you wish

It is Friday 21st January 1972 v Crewe Alexandra and the bottom 1/4 of it is for Rovers v Grimsby Town in the North Midlands Football League

They were of course printed by the Doncaster Free Press and this one was peeled off a Rovers Express window by me and at an age where I should have known better

Glad I went to find it because I also found some old old Rovers stuff and the News Of The World from the day after England won the World Cup together with a World Cup Willy

Cheers DW

You might have to explain your World Cup Willy to the younger generation on here.

http://wapedia.mobi/en/FIFA_World_Cup_mascot

1966 was the first time Mascots had been used to promote World Cups - and I dont think the Olympics had done so either

Here is the famous World Cup Willy - I would post the vinyl \"Record\" of the same name but thankfully I have not got it !

Oh GOD I should have known it would be on Youtube and as bad as I remember

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn1ocjcD-ZE

Enjoy !
