Rovers documenrty from 1998
« on August 11, 2017, 11:24:22 pm by not on facebook »
Well worth the 47 mins and handful of seconds running time.

It's first time I have seen it ,so must walk round with me eyes shut.

Guess a few of you have seen it ,but just as many have not.

Found it on the free press page.

Weaver and Richardson etc etc

Still upsetting when watching what happened to our club but we did rise again. I honestly left Belle Vue that day thinking I would never see the club play again. What happened in the next ten-years was a minor miracle.

Thanks for posting this NOF, I'll never tire of watching it.

Superbly made documentary and great to see lots of familiar faces (including a starring cameo from my dad) that still attend the games week in week out and are such a big part of this club.
Very nice to also see some of the characters no longer with us, including the greatest voice in football; Ken Avis, and the irrepressible Mrs Robinson.

Loved watching every minute of that. Tough times but, at risk of sounding cliched, a reminder of how lucky we are to be able to look back on that with the backdrop of the more recent history.

Thank God we never got Anton Johnson - the Kevin Phelan and Sequentia Capital of his time.

Anton Johnson > this was the first time that I clocked that a Anton Johnson was interested in buying DRFC .

Putting me hands up to above, today I don't have a scooby doo who Anton Johnson is or was.

I recall a Pete wetzel who was from S R gents I think and I think he had a side kick who I can't recall ,then I go to Richardson then Ryan onto brammall and co.

Another Bloody Sunday > it's not a rovers link but one about Doncaster rugby league club aka the dons.

Many of you would have seen it before ,but the younger ones I guess would have let it pass.

You will not be dissapointed .

Wish we could go back to them days when day to day life seemed far more pleasant than today

Thanks for the other links. Danny Bergara wasn't very inspiring in fact a total tosser when it came to lifting the team all he did was swear at the team, it was funny when he got the players to change shirts to fool the opposition and then forget which ones were which and put them in the wrong positions.

No doubt the crematorium manager will leave his cell phone at the scene...
