Richie Wellens
« on September 08, 2015, 04:09:04 pm by mrfrostsdad »
Has I'm led to believe, been playing for the development side this afternoon.
What's the betting he stays now that Dickov has gone?

God I hope not...He wouldn't have pulled on his shirt today for me..Waste of a place...Remember it isn't just Dickov who has a problem with Wellens..Theres 2 first teamers who would drive him over the penines tomorrow....

He played about an hour. Maybe someone was having a look at him?

He can't stay .... he's said he wants to be nearer home , a change of manager shouldn't make any difference unless it was all bull.

Personally, I think we need him. And all that old warlocks that Dickov said about no problems between Richie and him was exactly that: a load of old warlocks!!

There are players who don't like each other, some are submissive and others have forcefull views but they have worked together as they do in different walks of life.

There 2 or more players that I would drive away from the club. Who this season like Wellens have been well below their best.

If you listen to PD's interview when asked about Wellens it seemed pretty clear to me that there were reasons he wanted to move closer to home and as PD said it wasn't for "personal reasons"
I don't know anything but it wouldn't surprise me if his decision was made due to "travelling difficulties"

I wonder if Wellens was leading an anti-Dickov faction in the Dressing Room and this was affecting team performances, so the Board had to act to sack PD.

Let him go at least the new man will have some funds freed up by his departure.

Has he? Haven't seen anything in the papers to that effect.

Footballer banned from driving usually gets into the press.

So it will be interesting if he suddenly changes his mind and decides that travelling is no longer an issue for him

No. He wasn't.

He can't drive anymore. Nothing more sinister than that. No bust up, just can't drive to work.

Exactly. People should know the facts before they start slating him.

I could see for myself that Wellens wasn't very mobile any more but I didn't know that.

Why can't Wellens drive to work if he's not banned

Or get on a Greenline, as Del used to say!, None of us really know the facts on him why he wants to leave, we guess like we all do on most things involving the club.
On his performances on the pitch, he hasn't done it for a long time.

Alternatively Gaz you could say that any bad feeling or issues  always seems to include Wellens one way or another..So Yes I'm slating him..I'm fed up with his mardy crying and moaning...I wouldn't care if he was still good...Get him on his way as quick as we can before the new manager comes in...

i would(if he wanted to stay)keep wellens a new manager could revitalise him.as for falling out with fellow team members is not uncommon, andy cole and teddy sheringham never spoke but on the field they both did their job for club and country.
