I have it on good authority that Lund is in fact, thick as pudding.

This photo explains it.

Plenty of lads have potential but not many make the grade.
It takes dedication and those two haven’t got it.

How can you be daft enough to waste what talent you have and pass up the chance of a career?

Youth is sometimes wasted on the young, idler.

Don't know about Lund but I know Mandeville loved a night out and a good drink.

Shame really, might not have made a difference but it certainly won't have helped them if they aren't looking after their bodies, when they first came onto the first team scene they looked like they would go on to have good careers.

Never saw anything in Lund to suggest he'd make it, that away game at Glanford Park where he was torn a new one signalled the end.

Thought Mandeville was possibly going to be a rarity to come through and make it as a regular. Seems the answer to Idler's question is just changing one letter in the word 'pass'

Many better players than Lund and Mandeville have succumbed to the demon drink and ruined their career's.

There are millions who never take to drink who have never been as good.

Agreed selby but it isn’t just the drink.
Attitude and aptitude are the most important.

Me & my brother met Lund’s mum once when we were on a tour of the stadium. Mitchell had just been given a new 2 year contract & she said her pride in him was tinged with some sadness as his brother had been released by the club. She came over as a lovely lady.

I doubt she’s as proud of him having seen that piece of crass as she appeared to be that day.
