Message from my QPR supporting pal earlier this year when I told him how good Dieng was for us:

“I wish we’d recall him, Lumley is terrible.”

I hope he’s wrong!

I’m guessing this means that Moore thinks Jones isn’t ready, and given the window is shut we can only sign a short-term, stop-gap solution. Presumably we’ll look to assess in January - if he’s any good he might be extended to a full season loan, if not we’ll look elsewhere.

Bristol Rovers fans rate him when he was on loan with them.

Edit: and Blackpool

Played twice for Gillingham this season and kept clean sheets in both, one against Sunderland.

Apparently a keeper coming in on an emergency loan has to play, it is nothing to do with whether Darren rates Jones or not he has no option.

This is probably why DM wanted 3 keepers from the start and it was intended that the 3rd one was to be an experienced guy. They either couldn’t find someone suitable or we tightened the reins after COVID.

Gashead here.
Joe Lumley is a very good keeper. He was with us for half a season and was very good. We would have liked to keep him but QPR had plans for him and he’s played lots of games for them since. Obviously something has gone a bit wrong there now for him to be available on a loan but a very solid keeper, good shot stopper. Pretty sure you’ll be pleased. After our 2nd choice in goal for the last two matches (Jaakola was away with Finland) was such a clown I’m almost jealous!

According to the DFP........ or Liam Hoden

Lumley will see his current contract with QPR expire in the summer and, given his lack of game time this season, is unlikely to be offered fresh terms. It has been suggested Rangers could attempt to move him on in January.

I think he means Rovers....

No, he means Queens Park Rangers will probably look to move him on from their books in January.

Doesn’t it mean QPRangers will try to move him in January when they might get some money for him before his contract expires?

Thanks Eadiee73,that's good to hear,We had Dieng on loan from QPR last season and he was very, very, good,Not surprised he has gone up the ranks at Loftus road and may well be the biggest reason Lumley has dropped down.

Here's one for the stattos. Has he ever played against us?

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall his name at a match.
