Some good ones on there.
They should have won as they're a bigger club.
They had more fans there than us.
We are a dirty team, Moore a dirty manager.
-
I just wish that once just once when the oppo fans have been singing "this is a loybury this is a loybury" that when we take the lead the Black Bank crack up with :
To the Library 1-0 To the Library 1-0
I would die a happy man (probably of broken ribs through laughing myself to death)
-
Their fans were shite to say there were 3000 of them.
-
Just one of those horrible physical long ball teams, don’t know what all the hype is about, they’ve done well like but the train terminates here!

They weren't long ball?
-
They just sing generic songs. None of their own.

They're so massive. Haven't we been above them for like the last 15 years?
-
It's the usual we get more fans than them. They'll be bzck down to 3000 a week once the run ends.
-
Their fans were awful. I heard more noise when Wimbledon brought 50 fans.
-
6000 in the stadium according to them. Yawn.
-
Can you hear the Lincoln sing?
-
Lincoln didn’t see defeat as an option ....now they going through a bit of inner turmoil...
-
Small club syndrome. Fans have to grow in class in a higher league along with their team. Unfortunately, it seems the Lincoln fans are about as advanced in this league as their manager.
-
Gave it the big un for 10 minutes but had gone quiet even before we scored.

A lot of high balls pinged towards the the centre forward to say they weren’t long ball.
-
My mate is an Imps Fan he reckoned they would muller us! I pointed out that we will have had them watched and would burst their Bubble!
-
They're like a proper w**k Rotherham, in terms of fan base.
Think they're much bigger than they really are, horrible shithouse club and just not particularly pleasant. Can see why there was a bit of a rivalry back in the day.
-
They can say what they like but the fact is we won, and they have to face us again on Tues 3rd Sept and they can't really be looking forward to the probable prospect of losing again.
-
They are not big at all. Just a load of band wagon jumpers who will go back to Man Utd when the losses start increasing
-

wonder how many they will bring then? 200?
-
A good following but Grimsby brought more than a thousand more.

10 days from now they will have to go through that again. Their bubble has burst after 2 losses. And 200 will probably be about right.
-
After the first ten minutes or so I barely heard them from my South Stand position, except when they scored of course.
-
It’s a shame rovers will only get about 1700 for the return fixture, then they will hear some noise.
-
and we will have about 600 for a dead (unintersting) Competition
-
Any club’s fans who feel the need to steal Weeds United’s trademark song really don’t have any class do they?
Embarrassing.
And I absolutely love it when we get one over on fans who spend more time singing negative songs about the opposition than actually supporting their own team.
But let’s forgive them. They are only young.

What, were they singing a version of Marching on together.
-
Bless 'em, they have done well coming through from the Conference to League 1 as we did, but when they spend a few years in the Championship, as we did, they have a case.

No they were singing ‘We are the Champions, Champions of Europe’.

Ah, cheers.
Couldn’t hear them so I didn’t know.
Crikey, they might be the Champions of Lincolnshire but they are stretching things a bit.

Their attendances are no better than ours when we were on our rise through the leagues.
what matters is, we've maintained them in the long run, I doubt Lincoln would do the same.
-
There is a novelty to supporting Lincoln, once it wears off they will have a more realistic fan base
-
I live and work in Lincolnshire. It’s cringeworthy the amount of complete non footballing types have jumped on their success bandwagon.
-
No problem with any of that though.
They do seem to think they're a better side than they are though. We are very much a team starting out this year with plenty still to do but they didnt trouble us much at all.
-
It happens and let them enjoy it after so many years in the doldrums just like ourselves.
Welcome to the bigger leagues where margins are finer and teams have a little bit more quality in their ranks.
I hope more fans get down to the Keepmoat. DMs team deserves it and if we need any reminder that it is not a given to have a good football club in the community, then Bury and Bolton should. I hope the good folk of Donny haven't got complacent!
-
Lincoln have Fleetwood at home next week and I wonder what they’ll make of them. Cowley could end up with a black eye or two if he messes about!

Pound for pound I don't think theirs much between Fleetwood & Lincoln so next weeks fixture between them will be interesting. I can see that being a draw tbh, if it was the other way round and at Fleetwood I would have Fleetwood taking the points.
Anyway two difficult games out the way and 6 points in the bag and still undefeated. Long long way to go but a very good start and certainly shut a few poeple on here.

You mean from Joey B? 😀

It's holiday season still, Baz. Crowds are always a bit thinner this time of year.
-
Imagine when they meet two opposing players going for the ball missing and then both diving in rolling about in fake agony?
The ref could be very busy in this game.
-
We're similar clubs, different recent trajectories. In the 70s I recall them getting bigger crowds than us. As far as rivals go, I like them.
-
We should remember we took some massive away followings locally when we’d just come up.
Not a chance we’d take the same numbers now.
So no problem with their “bandwagon” fans. But it can all change very quickly.
By the way, Danny Cowley is an absolute d**khead, but maybe he’s just trying to create a siege mentality after coming up a league.

praise indeed from a load of agrarian dullards - they might know f**k all about football, being evolved and sentient beings or personal hygiene, but them bogtrotters know a nice bit of soil and turf when they see it - Rovers groundstaff should be proud

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Wednesday or Huddersfield before long.

They lose that title COL by a mile as well
Its Grimsby Town that lead that particular Yellow Belly race and will not be topped ever it seems
Grimsby Town are the most successful of the three professional league clubs in historic Lincolnshire, being the only one to play top flight English football. It is also the only club of the three to reach an FA Cup semi-final (doing so on two occasions). It has also spent more time in the English game's first and second tiers than any other club from Lincolnshire.

An absolute vintage HH post!!
-
Some good laughs to be had on that thread. Combine it with the Aussies whinging about the cricket and it makes a good bank holiday!
-
Can anyone share a link please?

This is a link to my Q&A session and there is a Tab on top which is where I presume most of the Fan quotes are coming from

You could see them salivating, itching to get on there ploughing and planting some arable crop seed.

Ben Whitehouse?
