Title: Train Journey home on Saturday
Post by: Albert Trousers on January 16, 2017, 01:20:15 pm
How was everyone's journey home, we was on the 19.04 out of London & it was boisterous to say the least, loads of Donny & Barnsley fans & I thought it was going to kick off on a couple of occasions.

Rotherham will go to London via Sheffield,so I don't think they will have to come to Doncaster

We were sat with Boro fans on the 18:35. Saying they don't like the prem and were jealous of Newcastle going to Brentford. Only reason they want their club in the prem is the money, they say the away days are awful..

That is a hell of a slow route down.

I wonder though how much of that is down to the PL, and how much is down to their inability to score a goal! It's a lot more exciting watching a team at the top of the division or one scrapping for their life at the bottom than it is watching a team who specialise in 0-0 or 1-0 either way.

Ive got a Man Utd supporting mate. Provided you van bring yourself to listen to him he has some godawful horror stories about the baleful influence of the PL and Sky on the poor sods who actually want to go watch games. He thinks those two are the latter day Scylla and Charybdis. And the pair of them combined screw you over good and proper.

They'll pay less at away games in the premiership for a ticket than a lot of championship clubs

Don't understand how the away days are awful in PL, agree with Nick in that it's more to do with not being the big boys anymore.
In it's way it's like our progress to the Championship from the lower leagues, maybe some of our fans missed away days at Carlisle, Crewe & Cheltenham but I bet 99% preferred going to Derby, Leicester & the Sheffield's on a regular basis.

An away day is as good as your own fans make it.
