Tonight’s team
COYR
-
Reece James in midfield again then.
FFS.
-
The injured seem to be taking a while to come back.No sign of Taylor or Gomes or John Jules .
-
And tulloch,
Why were playing James in midfield and John at left back when we’ve Richards and Amos on the bench is baffling

With you on that one. Hopefully we see a performance that validates his selections, though.
-
Maybe we are playing 3 centre backs and Halliday and James wing backs
-
Really want to watch but last time it buffered for 90 mins and no sign of a refund
-
Please please play James at left back and John in left midfield
-
Really want to watch but last time it buffered for 90 mins and no sign of a refund
I paid my tenner about 5 mins ago and logged straight into the streaming, showing live pics of the players warning up - in between the ads.!
-
This needs to work !
We have plenty of attacking options though a few have dried up of late....
John at left back is gonna put some on the edge of their seats....
I remember the good old days when Halliday, wright,Anderson and James filled me with a feeling of invincibility....
-
I probably will have to pause the stream for a while to get my tea, so will wait until half time to comment or even after the game..
Let’s see if we get a good one, eh.?
-
Whos the scouse co commentator ?
Also who co commentated the Sunderland game ?

You mean last season, sh66y? :)

Whos the scouse co commentator ?
Also who co commentated the Sunderland game ?
That would be Jon Taylor.
Shaun Lockwood was the co-commentator last time.

Dont start watching till kick off i thought maybe Doolan or Blundell

0-1
-
Cheating tw't. Not a penalty!
-
Soft as shite, that penalty.
-
Never a penalty
-
Why do we have to keep giving teams a one goal head start?
-
Copps on the left.....James central......now I understand the logic.....
-
No way a penalty. Fackin ridiculous.
-
Square pegs .. round holes?
-
Maxine went down very easily there.
He has been falling over all game and whining at the ref.
We are struggling to get out of our own half.
Nearly 2-0 there.
-
Think this ref has got this down as an away win
-
Could easily have been 2 there, Lumley flapping at a cross.
-
Soft penalty, but we’re looking crap at the minute
-
Cheating tw't. Not a penalty!
Shouldn’t be too surprised, he’s a professional footballer for heaven’s sake. A lot of them are cheating tw##s.
-
Pretty poor again. Need to pick it up or we could be in for a good hiding.
-
f**king Madine. Still a t**t. We will win this one though.
-
If Rochdale or Bristol Rovers can sneak a win I think that will mean we are 3 points of a relegation place
Still plenty of time to hit back. :clapping:
-
Blackpool are all over us.
How many times have we conceded first now.
-
The camera focus on iFollow is poor tonight. It's sharp in the centre of the screen but poor away from the centre.
Is it a different camera to usual?
-
I’m ok with us playing out from the back but what frustrates me is when the keeper passes it to Wright or Anderson who have loads of space and they turn around and pass it straight back. Even more annoying when we are losing
-
Watters............
-
Fejiri needs to make more of a contribution. Not holding the ball up and getting caught offside unnecessarily!
-
Plan b, plan b, plan b, plan b.......this isn’t working at all, we are losing all the battles and look bloody amateurish.....
Ive seen James in ten positions so far, and done bugger all in any of them....
I relict a freakin riot of f this persists....
-
Sky bet has us at 5/1 against winning, not surprised.
-
James off, Richards on?
-
Fejiri needs to make more of a contribution. Not holding the ball up and getting caught offside unnecessarily!
Has he won a single header so far?
We've not had a shot yet.
-
Really poor this, look out of ideas when attacking and being completely overrun
-
So 32 mins gone - not one shot by Rovers and 8 by Blackpool........
-
No width, no movement up front, no attempts on goal
-
I wouldn’t be taking James off
John off, James to left back, Richards on,
-
Second best all over the pitch, slow build up play, men against boys at the minute.
-
When did Dickov come back as manager? Did I miss it?
-
0:2
-
Game over, we are too slow to attack, and not good enough defensively.
-
Anyone got a jack? the wheels seem to have fallen off.
-
All we’ve deserved
An absolute shambles
All brought about by a terrible team selection
-
Same shite different opposition.
-
I've not seen the first half, worth tuning into the second half?
-
Kinell.
This is shocking again by us.
FFS Moore, get it sorted out.
-
What the f**k was Lumley playing at there? It was a terrible touch by their front man and gave him the opportunity to save but he completely bottled it
-
f**king awful, we haven’t had an attempt yet, too f**king slow
-
Second shocking performance in less than a week. Problem is he doesn’t really have many options to change it does he?
-
We’re 2 down, we have to change the system, it’s going to end up a few more if not. 1 up front not working, we need to attack
-
I've not seen the first half, worth tuning into the second half?
If you like not enjoying your team's performance, yeah.
-
Its all a bit obvious what to do against us, let the defenders have it, they are not footballing players. For me we have to get our better players on the ball at the back, move Ben very deep to move the ball forward, rather than side to side, then back to the keeper.
-
Well he does yeah
He’s playing players out of position for starters,
James in central midfield is ridiculous
-
Slow slow slow. We are so easy to defend against. Also you can hear Jon Taylor say every time the ball goes to Fej “hold it” and every time the ball bounces off him.
-
Second shocking performance in less than a week. Problem is he doesn’t really have many options to change it does he?
Maybe he wouldn’t have to change things if he started with players in their right positions.
-
Dear oh dear.
Starting to fall down the table a bit now
-
Slow, predictable and second best in every position.
-
The manager needs to put confidence in the players, the last 2 games we have spent passing it around the back 4 looking like they have no idea what to do with it, playing counter attack is fine if you have pace up front but we don’t have that at the minute, let’s hope Moore has a plan b as it doesn’t seem like it at the minute
-
We are so easy to play against. Liked the free kick we had in the opposing half & promptly played a 10 yard pass back, excellent.
-
Play players in their correct position.
-
This is hard to watch, again.
We've been good in flashes this season but I'm struggling to really see any sort of progression from last season on the whole. Defensively we seem worse... not sure if the stats bear that out
-
I feel sorry for the commentators trying to say something positive about this shite
-
I hope we get absolutely mullered .... sometimes tough love is what you need....
It’s not a coincidence that we look poor......we are !!
DM took a promising defensive base that was being regaled as possibly the best in the division and had turned it into s disjointed frightened mish mash of poor passing division 2 players ....
I’m a season ticket holder forced to watch this crap because I paid for it......never a bloody gain,
-
Possession 68%:32% in our favour...what?
-
Second shocking performance in less than a week. Problem is he doesn’t really have many options to change it does he?
Yes he does!!!
Put players in their proper position!
-
Our keeper has had most of that possession.
-
Something needs to change.... set up sounds completely wrong... Need to go 442?
-
I'm absolutely livid, this is shockingly embarrassing, second best to everything again, too slow, too much fannying about at the back, get the bloody ball forward QUICKER!! Really bad again.
-
Possession 68%:32% in our favour...what?
68% of that has been shared between Anderson, Lumley and Wright.
-
Hopefully this is Moore's wake up call. Stop playing John at left back.
-
It’s no good having loads of possession if it’s all in your own half, passing it between your defenders
-
The 3 worst players on the pitch over the last two games
John,
Lokilo,
Okenabirhie,
3 players Moore has given contracts to,
The last 120 mins of football is as bad as we’ve seen for a long time
-
We’re 2 down, we have to change the system, it’s going to end up a few more if not. 1 up front not working, we need to attack
For me Fej needs to show he looks as if he’s interested, I know he’s up top on his own, but his chasing down is non existent
-
Don't worry the happy clappers will still find something positive to say about our display
-
I’ll ask again....
What is your preferred back four????
This was our strength once upon a time,
-
This is dreadful. Moore needs to be accountable for this selection. Lumley as previously said what an earth was he doing had the chance to spread himself and take the ball.
-
Expected a reaction tonight aswell. We are slow, can't pass, players look like they don't know what to do with the ball, & if we are not careful this could be 4 or 5.
-
Where the f**k do you start with that? Beyond awful. We look utterly clueless.
It's like the very worst of O'Driscoll, when it was all about safe possession and no-one ever taking a chance. We are looking very much like we've been rumbled and don't have a Plan B.
And I've been saying for weeks that, much as it hurts to admit, Coppinger has gone. That was awful play that led to their second goal. First of all he took all the sting out of a promising attack by turning back. Then he looked everyone of his years as he got his pocket picked.
How do we dig ourselves out of this?
-

Bit harsh on Lokilo, seeing as he isn't even on the pitch...
-
Moore needs to get his act together and get players on the pitch in their right positions.
All this negative tippy tippy at the back isn’t working.
Teams have sussed out how we play and we don’t appear to be able to play any other way.
I suppose DM will talk about how we played well but we’re unlucky with the two goals.
-

Wonder if Lumley could do a job in the middle of the park?

I know
-
It’s like he has no confidence in our players ability, hopefully we can give it a go rather than sit back
-
I would take wright off, and move John to centre back for the pace, James back to his normal position. I would have Ben really deep, he has to be the one who gets the ball and moves it around not the head on sticks - they are very good at that, but not decisive passing - just not their game, and not a criticism.
The midfield have to move around more, the defence are struggling because of their lack of movement. Copps has not been very good with the ball tonight, and looks a bit off the pace, easy balls have been messed up, and he has tried a few flicks that were never on, the same for Simms.
Fej has had the square root of nothing again.
Its frustrating but we all know we can play better than the last two games have shown :scarf: we can hopefully get an early goal, and spark some better play.
-
Lumley
Wright. Anderson. John
Halliday. Whiteman. Smith. James. Lokilo
Richards. Sims
Needs pace and a new formation. Copps not got the pace we need, as for Okenabirhie just not his level I’m afraid
-
Like they have two extra men on the pitch.winning everything in midfield.when we get in their half we lose the ball every time.can’t see where a goal will come from.just a follow on from sat.
-
Second shocking performance in less than a week. Problem is he doesn’t really have many options to change it does he?
He has seven subs- plenty of choice. Needs to start playing people in their best positions and two up front. Fej is totally isolated as the three behind him are not supporting!

He was on the pitch in the last game,
What’s difficult to understand about that?
-
Sorry to say but unless we score next and within the first 5 mins we will get nothing.
Blackpool can now just sit 10 behind the ball and pick us off on the counter
I'm hoping to see changes at halftime but I doubt it
-
A half that exposes our weaknesses at the mo. In the final third just very poor, as in shot shy, poor crossing and trying to overplay it.
Blackpool played a very high tempo and deserved to be in front. Just a shame they resorted to cheating to start. Weak ref however, felt that if we went down in the box, fair chance we'd get one too.
-
Why cant ifollow be buffering and crap when you need it so I have an excuse to turn this rubbish off?
-
Why not bring John inside & go with 3 centre halves, put James back at left back & get he & Halliday bombing forward & supporting our forward, Richards on for Coppinger in midfield. We have to try something else just to try & make a game of it. This is utter dross.
-
This is dreadful. Moore needs to be accountable for this selection. Lumley as previously said what an earth was he doing had the chance to spread himself and take the ball.
It’s a 2 on 1, what do you expect him to do? Only way it doesn’t go in is if he gets lucky

Watch it again, he had already got lucky with the attacker’s heavy touch. He hesitates when he could easily have gone down and won the ball.

Surely you don’t want us to sink to that level, DBR? Cheating? Not for me.

Don't blame Lumley. It was Coppinger who gave the goal away by fannying and getting caught in possession..............again. Im afraid BST is right.
-
If we play tippy tippy at the back when 2 down for the next 20 minutes, mines going off.
-
Think we are going to struggle with mid table this season as it stands. Have been terrible since the first international break and showing no signs of being able to recover. Need to play the league not the system DM needs to stop being stubborn and change quickly
-
1:2
-
Glad I've tuned in for the second half.
-
Yassssssss

Who scored the last two goals for Rovers. Okenabihre and John.
-
Cameron John should be playing up front instead of Okenabirhie
-
Glad I've tuned in for the second half.
Can you stay all half please.
-
f**king Madine trying hard to get our players booked.
-
Blackpool really are a set of cheats. And this useless referee is buying it all.
-
Come on fellas give us another fcuker
-
Madines decided to ref this game!
-
Staggering how this ref is constantly being conned by Madine
-
f**king Madine trying hard to get our players booked.
Hes a disgrace.
-
2:2
-
Lovely touch
-
Wonder what he said at half time. Certainly worked!
-
2-2.
-
f**king Madine trying hard to get our players booked.
You sound surprised, hound? One of the many reasons that modern day football stinks.
-
We've missed Taylor Richards.
-
Rovers have decided to start playing then.
-
Well done Roberts and James
-
Were gonna win the league , we’re gonna win the league and are u gonna believe us
-
f**king Madine trying hard to get our players booked.
You sound surprised, hound? One of the many reasons that modern day football stinks.
Not surprised at all mate.
-
We look a different side when we're not so ponderous in the build up
-
Can we get subtitles for Jon Taylor?
-
F**k me, is Madine the ref's son?
-
We've showed more in 8 minutes than in the previous 135. Much more like it! Credit to Moore and the team for whatever they have done at half time
-
Increasing the tempo and introducing Richards has made a massive difference
-
I think that Madine is a fully paid up member of the Tom Daley supporters club
-
I've not seen the first half, worth tuning into the second half?
Don't know what you guys were moaning about. ;)
-
Richards impressed when he came on on Saturday.
-
Well done Roberts and James
Roberts ? Who he ?
-
Well done Roberts and James
Roberts ? Who he ?
Gareth Roberts.
-
Could just do with Husband giving us a peno now
-
Miles better now and not before time.
-
we are soooo slow to release the ball, for passes that are clearly on, then players. are getting caught offside
-
What a tossed Madine is.
-
Give that git an Oscar
-
Husband's a knobhead.
-
Think we need to get players to go down and stay down when we feel 'the lean in the back'
Madine a right dick I hope he handballs to give us a penalty. Husband at it now this ref is shit
-
f**king Husband at it now.
Why do players have to f**king scream out as if they have been hit with an axe.
-
Finally books a Blackpool player
-
f**king Madine trying hard to get our players booked.
You sound surprised, hound? One of the many reasons that modern day football stinks.
Not surprised at all mate.
But surely you don’t want us, Doncaster Rovers, our team, to sink to that level, hound?

Madine is ridiculous! Husband is a knob too, typical Leeds scrote!

Did I say we should.
-
Same style foul on us we don't scream Blackpool get away with foul
-
a win now would be most enjoyable.
-
Good advantage, pulls the play back and doesn’t book him :crying:
-
Poor officiating.
-
Okenabirhie has offered absolutely nothing tonight.
-
Think we need to get players to go down and stay down when we feel 'the lean in the back'
Not for me, mate. Cheating is not what I want to see in a football game...especially from the club that I’ve supported since the 1950’s. Just saying.
-
Brilliant defender, but Joe Wrights passing is awful
-
Pen.
-
3:2

Get in there, you beauty!

2-0 and you f*cked it up...

No, hound, sorry if it read like that. Just asking.
-
Amazing.
Totally unexpected at half time.
-
Told you he would give us one if we went down
-
 Credit to Moore, and the team of course, for turning this around. Not over, but I'd have taken a point at half time.
-
Now we know that DM reads this forum page at half time.......

What a difference going forward since Copps went a lot quicker
-
Anyone else’s iFollow buffering a lot? Hardly watched any of this second half.
-
Second half has been excellent
None of the messing about with it at the back Much more urgency.
Very good
-
Blackpool bringing on four subs all at once.
-

Mines been perfect on the iPad
-

Yes and it keeps logging me out.
-
Blackpool bringing on four subs all at once.
And Keshi Anderson is one of them. I forgot he was now at Blackpool.
-
being greedy i know , but I'd like another goal.
-
Some cheating gets in the Blackpool side!
-
5 substitutes, load of rubbish, like American shitty sport.
Decent pass from Sims then, game over.
-
Doug also should have been booked for multiple fouls.
-
Interesting stat. from Jeff Stelling on SkySports:
Rovers have not conceded more than 3 goals at home in the last 41 games! Can’t lose then, eh?
(Wonder who that game was against when we conceded at least four?
-
Piss poor ref, even obstructing our players now!
-
BLOW THE WHISTLE!
-
Piss poor ref, even obstructing our players now!
Brilliant refereeing!
-
3:2 FT
-
Fantastic comeback, well done DM and the lads! :woohoo:
-
Well done Rovers but why can’t we put two good halves together.
Even better because of the way the opposition players were diving about.
-
excellent, will settle for that. :scarf:
-
We played with 10 men what passenger Okenbirhie is. He’s doing nothing to keep his place when JJ can start.
-

That Fleetwood game we lost 0-4 but actually played decent, I think.
-
Well, who saw that coming at HT, good win, but we need to address that 1st half showing
-
Great win over a side who usually beat us at home.
-
3-2 Well i'll go t foot of our stairs #DRFC
-
I just could not see this happening at half-time. Just where did it come right in the second half? Why can’t we do it in the first? Still, if it’s a win, who cares, eh?
UTR!
-
Well, who saw that coming at HT, good win, but we need to address that 1st half showing
Yes play players with pace not slow it down to try and get control and then lose the ball. Richards did well in the middle and James although did not have a bad first half played well on the left wing.
-
Unbelievable!
I never doubted it......
-
Like chalk and cheese each half.great performance second half. Credit where credits due

Cheers, DO!
-
Terrific performance in the second half. Who saw that coming? Referee was shocking but eventually gave us a break when Halliday handled the ball in the area near the end.
-
That was as pleasing as the time we were 0-3 down to Dover and won 5-4
-
The difference was Taylor Richards..... awesome performance, changed the game.
And Reece James plays well out wide .... who knew?
;)

Play with the players in there strongest positions with pace, were decent. Thinking same side for Sunday then hopefully Taylor, JJ and Gomez fit for Hull
-
Where the f**k do you start with that? Beyond awful. We look utterly clueless.
It's like the very worst of O'Driscoll, when it was all about safe possession and no-one ever taking a chance. We are looking very much like we've been rumbled and don't have a Plan B.

OK. Like THAT then...
-
Much better second half shows what we can do
When we pass the ball forward well done to all

Nice one MM. (How small, by the way. :))
-
So I ended up being ten mins or so behind..
I agree that we were nowhere near good enough in the first half. Sad to say Copps was our worst player and DM did right to change him - Richards simply injected some much needed energy into our play.
I don’t think Copps is “done” just yet - he’s allowed to have a crap game sometimes.
I think the criticism of Fej is a bit OTT - he didn’t have much support did he.
Not sure what John did wrong to get some of the pelters either.?
Also, James was highly effective going forward so all of you calling out DM for his selection in an advanced position maybe need a bit of humble pie for tonight’s pudding.
As for Madine, he’s an embarrassment to the term “professional footballer”..
Now, we have been inconsistent with performances and results this season but what is abundantly clear is this is a side which rarely knows when it is beaten.. yes we go behind in games, but what we are seeing is a team which never gives up..
We started like we were low in confidence and lacked any creativity and bite going forward..
DM certainly got them going second half, and at the end of the day 3 points is 3 points..
Ifollow worked perfectly for me.

James got criticised for his CM play IDM as he clearly doesn’t suit that role.
He went left side in the second half and was much better, more natural to him.
-
I just could not see this happening at half-time. Just where did it come right in the second half? Why can’t we do it in the first? Still, if it’s a win, who cares, eh?
UTR!
I could - I had a small bet on us at 12/1......
Nice one MM. (How small, by the way. :))
Only a couple of quid.... was sweating a bit at the end though....
-
The second half performance was very good, however it took DM 45 minutes to work out how to manage Blackpool and eventually overcome them ...... I really rate our Manager, but feel he needs to be quicker to react to the threats being imposed....
This result though remarkable is not how we should be approaching games,
I am 58 , have just retired 5 weeks ago and have absolutely no grey hair ......I’d like to keep it that way....

I am 68 with loads of grey hair but then again I have supported Rovers for much longer than you.

But still in an attacking position, when plenty were calling for him to start at LB.
Whatever the faults and/or selection issues for that first half, much credit must go to DM for whatever he did to get the players to win that game.

Agreed but you know as well as I do that James is more suited to playing on the left rather than CM.

I think Blackpool switched off a bit too, and didn't know how to react when we got the second.
Taylor was the key, but also John and James were pushed up really high.

Interesting stat. from Jeff Stelling on SkySports:
Rovers have not conceded more than 3 goals at home in the last 41 games! Can’t lose then, eh?
(Wonder who that game was against when we conceded at least four?
That Fleetwood game we lost 0-4 but actually played decent, I think.
I've never in all my life seen 45 mins like that one. First half, we absolutely battered Fleetwood and went in 0-3 down.
-
I remember several games in the first half of the 2008/9 season where we battered teams and lost..
-
So I ended up being ten mins or so behind..
I agree that we were nowhere near good enough in the first half. Sad to say Copps was our worst player and DM did right to change him - Richards simply injected some much needed energy into our play.
I don’t think Copps is “done” just yet - he’s allowed to have a crap game sometimes.

I think most people are just bewildered by the insistence to play John at left back when we’ve two players who’ve played much better there this season in Amos and James.
Before the game started I said I was baffled James was playing central midfield when Richards was on the bench.
His introduction at half time did prove he would’ve been the correct choice to start.
James is a very good left back, John is a very good Centre half, Richards is a very good central midfielder.
Play them in their correct positions and we’ll win lots of football matches this season

As my stepdad Tony always says, always to groans of derision.... "It was a game of two halves, and the turning point was half time."

I didn't remember but that way. I remember a lot of games where we had loads of possession and barely created a chance. The first half tonight reminded me of that.

I was referring to the quality of the play from that season..
As for Dickos’ points for players in their best positions, yes that is great when all are fit and by that I mean the rest of the team. We are currently 4 attackers (attacks minded players if you include Gomes as one) down, so perhaps DM feels we need a bit more bite in the forward-ish positions, hence James played where he was. John can cover LB - did OK last night - but can also IMHO play in an advanced role. Richards is just back from injury so was an unlikely starter last night so effectively we were 4 1/2 players down.
We may not all agree with DM’s selections but we got the result..
-
I disagree I’m afraid
Amos and James have both played better as left backs recently than James.
I don’t think James gives us anything in central midfield, he played much better last night on the left hand side.
In my opinion John should be on the bench waiting for an opportunity to get into the centre of defence we shouldn’t be trying to show horn him into our starting 11

I disagree re Amos (and I like the lad, by the way) but Cameron is quicker and stronger than Amos. I thought pushing Reece out on the left tightened that side of the field, where the ex Mansfield lad was having a field day first half!
On the right side, Sims seemed to also buddy up with Halliday well and Richards strengthened the middle of the park.
The biggest single factor just had to be the b0ll0cking DM handed out at HT. Listen to Taylor Richards interview after the game and you can tell the lads had ‘a wake-up call’!
