Copps goal

Sir James Coppinger, could not have been any more fitting hey?

Am I the only one who thought he was offside?

Donny Legend for sure, hope he's with us next season  :scarf:

I am sure the Ref and both linesmen were understandably about 85 yards behind play.............

If the lino can't keep up with Billy he should retire ;-)

No you're not, Dean Windarse mentioned it more than once on Late Kick Off. What a fat inbred tosser that guy really is!!

Utter garbage as he quite clearly ran from an onside position when Paynter passed. I do wonder about Windyarse at times.

They thought he was offside on rovers player commentary. Not that it really matters now anyway

Copps wouldn't have to run very fast to overtake Paynter to be fair

Big H What angle have you seen it from to make that decision?
I was at the game and couldn't say, every video I've seen since doesn't show where Copps is when Paynter plays the ball but when Copps appears in the picture he does look suspiciously off side not that it matters now

They didn't say Walcott was offside yesterday but he was.
They didn't say RVP was offside against West Ham but he was
Need I say more?

I had the fortune of chatting to Copps and Brian Flynn in Asda at dinner time. Understandable they both looked at bit bleary eyed after and amazing 48 hrs but they were still on a high, with Copps saying he still had goosebumps each time he replays it in his mind.

I asked him if he was offside and he said it was close, but he thought he was level when Billy played the ball.

Brain was only too willing to describe how Billy came over to the touch line when the penalty was given, turned his back and knelt to the floor, head bowed. "What are you doing Billy?" "Praying!". On the reaction of the bench he got back up and....the rest is history.

I've never seen both Copps and Billy run so fast!

Talking to them, particularly Copps, you get a feel for how much he appreciates what it means to us fans. Brilliant.

Copps does the business when it's needed. He scored a hattrick against Southend in the play offs, and now he scores the winner to take us up as Champions. Isn't next session his testimonial session, I hope the club replays him for the loyalty he has shown to Rovers over the past 9 years.

We couldn't ask for a better Ambassador both on and off the pitch. Hope he stays for the rest of his playing career.

Doubt it! I can't see whoever has it willingly giving it back.

He certainly didn't get it back on Saturday. He had to wear Bennett's shirt for the remaining 5 seconds of the game when they kicked off after the goal.

And one thing no one has mentioned yet.

We played 45+5 in the first half, then 45+5+3 or 4 for the penalty in the second half, and Coppinger still ran the full length of the pitch to slot home.   What a complete hero the guy is.

Leave him alone, nothing wrong with old Deano. He was just saying it as he saw it and he gave us plenty of praise on the programme.

Paynter played it as soon as he got to the 18 yard box and Copps was behind it until then.
