Yes, Paul Maxted. I don't believe they are related.

I’m pleased for him because despite his FA Cup penalty heroics he was coming under pressure for his position at Guiseley as they have been shipping a lot of goals.

Good luck Jon, great move for you.

They think very highly of him seen some very good reviews on Twitter last few months.
Hopefully we don't live to regret letting him move on, the lads done well to bounce back and get another football league club.

Didn't he leave after a argument with our manager if my memory serves right? Was it Dickov?

Yes, I'm fairly sure his agent told Dickov he had a trial lined up at Walsall and asked if he could come back after the trial and Dickov told him not to bother.

I posted the link on a fairly recent thread to an article in the Free Press from the time.

If Aaron Chapman is your number one you’d be better signing a wheelie bin and putting that in goal.

Who does?

Guiskey do.
Got supporters player of the year last season.
Apparently very good at penalties also.

He was really popular with the fans last season and he’s had a couple of great games in the FA Cup this season, but Guiseley have let in more goals than any other team in the League and the fans have been grumbling about Maxted lately.

So the timing is right for him to move on.

I've not seen a bad comment on him.  If you look on there Twitter they are gutted he has left.

Seen 3 people saying him he has been there player og the season this season too.
1 fella saying he is destined for a career in the championship or above.
And even 1 fella saying hes a legend and will go very very far.

He's played every game for last year and half foe them. Certainly shown potential.
Be interesting to see how his career moves on now.

Seldom does a team that concedes a lot of goals do so because of the goalkeeper. Look at Pickford, he was the only decent player at Sunderland last season and he had to be, now he's impressing at Everton.

On the flip side, a side containing Gary Woods and ultimately Father Time himself for the run in only conceded 44 goals in 2012/13, which was the third lowest in the league that year.

Irrelevant, but proves that the amount of goals conceded (or not conceded) doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the goalkeeper.

My thoughts exactly. That first game of last season where we had Etheridge in goal and they had Chapman was a goalkeeping horror show. Chapman saved a penalty too, must have just fell over the right way.

yes i looked at the league last night and saw Wigan have conceeded only 13 league goals all season doesn't mean the goalie is neccessary good whoever he is
