I'm looking at going by train and tube should we make the final. Can anyone with previous Wembley experience confirm with a 13.00pm kick off that the 17.48pm train back from Kings Cross allows enough time should the game go all the way to pens?

I'm thinking as long as we're on the tube by 16.45pm we should be ok but I haven't been to Wembley before. Is there something I've not factored in like the walk to the tube station or potential for queues or having to wait for a tube train because the one that arrives is full?

Didn't fancy it for a variety of reasons when we beat Leeds and no my old dad has never forgiven me. He's 80 soon and not in the best health so it could be our last chance to go together!

Should be fine. MK Dons clearly won’t be bringing numbers Leeds did so getting out will be easier.

Well I’ve just reserved a parking spot here https://www.wembleycarparking.org.uk/secure-parking

A refund given up to a day before, 5-10 min walk to stadium, fill ya boots before any potential opponents get in there

Reading most clubs in recent history have outsourced ticket sales for play-off finals to companies like ticketmaster. Do you think rovers would do the same?

makes sense, a week to organise 20 plus thousand tickets, you could only imagine the queue at the ticket office,

With likelihood of thousands of day trippers who haven't gone to a game forever. Can we at least sort it so that a couple of sections behind the goal are allocated for those who do go. The fans were great again last night but no chance of spread all over 40k seats and 3 tiers.

Agreed, in my opinion, the singing or partizan section of our support should be behind the goal in the lower tier at wembley

McCann seems to be making a point of it lately as well and the difference it makes

How many would we take realistically? Bottom tear holds 35k at Wembley.

My mate has just paid £30 for a family railcard. 4 adults and 1 child works out at £55 pp.
I don't think that's bad at all

If we do make it, and if as looks very likely, Crawley make it, then Wembley is going to be about a third full.

It’s a very rough estimate but in 2008 we took 24,000, which was 3x our average gate that season of 8,000 (it’s rough because that included away fans but is the only metric available). Our average home gate this season is 7,000 so a 3x multiplier would give you 21,000. Crawley’s average home gate this season is 4,000 so a 3x multiplier gives you 12,000. Together that’s 33,000. About a third full.

There’s a big shopping centre at white city, can park there and get the tube to Wembley.  Looks like it takes about 45 mins and you need to change.  Or I usually park at the other Westfield centre at Stratford.  It’s the other side of London but for me it’s easier to get to being only a short drive from the end of the M11.  Then an hour on the jubilee tube line, no changes..

IF we get there..

No tube. There is London Overground from Shepherd’s Bush (right next to Westfield) and as you say, you have to change at Willesden Junction to another London Overground train to get to Wembley Central.

And there is scheduled engineering works on that route on Sunday 19 May.

If the overground has engineering works, the tube will still be ok.  Bit of a faff going back towards London then out again, but it’s easy and relatively inexpensive parking.

Only issue with the tube is it will be busy after the game finishes, but ideal if folks are spending some time in town too..

I've taken a gamble on us getting there - reserved Wembley Asda car park via JustPark.   Pay their rate and you don't get a PCN for staying longer than the shop normally allows.  Just the other side of Wembley Park tube and on a main road off the north circular.  Less than £20 to park between 1100-1700 hrs.

Roughly how much would it be on supporters coach to Wembley?
£55 flat rate for all ,plus say £45 per ticket it will price a few people out of going

Trains are practically sold out. Not a chance now that supporters coaches have been announced at £55

We took 24000 vs Leeds at wembley, with the bumfight for coaches and train tickets, added to the fact the tickets going off sale a week before the match.
Our fan base has grown alot since aswell, it could be closer to 30k in reality.

Our average gate in the 2007/08 season was 8,000. This season it is 7,000. Our fan base has declined by 1,000 on average since then, not increased.

Even if you factor in the late season uptick in form driving higher gates, Accrington was 6,900, Walsall was 6,500, Forest Green was 7,000.

Yes people like to see successful teams and yes there is a lot of chatter on here about getting tickets, but the marginal fan that will have to make up the difference between c.7000 and the 20,000 to 25,000 to take to Wembley isn’t going to be on here.

We will take good numbers but  don’t underestimate the impact of several seasons of rubbish. That side in 2007/08 had seen a number of seasons of success immediately prior, including going to a cup final the season before. We’ve been on a downward spiral for five years.

Agreed. Plus our last trip to Wembley included a number of infiltrators from the whites, friends and foes.

Like you, I can't see the evidence to suggest the fan base has increased. I hope I'm wrong although if McCann can ignite our progression then who knows, but it going to something to break that long term scepticism that sees our attendances fluctuate perhaps more than our local rival clubs.
