Touchy tonight

And the others aren't?

Not touchy, just like having little digs at posters opinions.

Never been a footballer. Absolute gash.
A target man is supposed to hold the ball up and bring others into play, he's also got to be useful at heading.
Couldn't trap a bag of sand, and what a f**kin fanny for a big lad.
Centre half's dream that.

That is an assassination not an opinion.

If you said, I thought Andrews was poor today cos x y z and not sure if he's going to make the grade etc, then fair dos.

Most folk judge a player over a number of games especially if they're young and learning their trade.

Fair point

In which case - think before you write it and don't be a bellend..... otherwise people will judge you.

He worked his nuts off. What i didnt understand is why didnt he start if we were planning on lumping balls upto Miller? Would have got more joy from lumping it to Andrews and getting runners around him. Not saying hes great by any means but anyone in a red and white shirt who does a job when we are up against it will do for me, and he did that. We now have a plan B and i already like him more than i ever liked Dodoo and Bogle.

Personally, I thought he had been given an impossible job today. He put himself about gamely but he's a young lad, not Leo Fortune-West.

I saw enough to suggest he has better days ahead of him, especially the two corners near the end of the game where he held off 2 Bradford players and ran at least 90 seconds off the clock.

Did the job he was asked to do, probably not the job he would have wanted to do.

What a game to be thrown into, poor service and being outnumbered by experienced defenders. He’s a very good young player, who will score goals for us.

Funny innit. I was going to start  a thread  saying what a good addition Andrews looks to be and how having a big strong lad upfront will make a difference this season.

I thought he did a good job, never stopped when the ball was near him. Nice option imo

I think Andrews has shown some really good signs in pre season. It was just a tough scenario yesterday. Think he’ll be a decent addition to our squad.

If it’s a scapegoat you’re after look no further than Tomlin

Already said I'm not scape goating him, it's my opinion and first impression of him.
Tomlin acted like a prick, he's lucky he didn't cost us the game.

I thought he did a great job running his socks off for the cause.
In the circumstances, his role was to try and slow down the return of Bradfords relentless attacks to allow the rest of the team to regroup and get back in shape.
In my opinion he did what he was tasked very well and showed some potential for when we have the personnel on the pitch to be an attacking threat.
He got no help from the officials as he was repeatedly wrestled and had his shirt pulled throughout.

Looking forward to seeing more of Josh when he has a ‘partner’ alongside him.

As for his performance when he came on yesterday he did all he could under ‘unusual’ circumstances. He was up on his own to act as target man & give the City defenders something to have to deal with. He was receiving balls from height with two defenders around him & no one to head it onto so had to try & control a difficult ball (he’s not Copps!) dead to his feet. He’s 20, still learning his craft.

He won us two corners in those dying minutes of the 2nd half with two defenders ‘kicking’ at his legs. He was having his shirt pulled & the referee didn’t give one decision for him.

He did more when he came on than Cukur did all last season for us.

Take a chill pill nudga.

Disagree with OP to be honest, I was on the front row of the end block behind the net so had a great view of his main ‘action area’ so to say, thought he did well with what he had. Important to add clarity that no striker wants to be placed in the corner winning flicks and holding up, he’d obviously had instruction and the fact that he could follow it bodes well for the season in my opinion.

Andrews starts today, hopefully in a partnership with Miller.

I'm in Turkey and won't see the match. I'm hoping that I'm eating humble pie by 5pm.
Good luck Josh.

Early days yet, but he’s got a lot of improving to do, on that performance.

The ref was shocking and penalised him throughout but it wasn’t a game he will remember fondly

From that display I’m inclined to agree with Nuga’s view of him. For me at best he is a player to bring on with 20 to go.

If he’s starting for us we are going to struggle with the ball coming straight back

Just reminds me of Cukur tbh, bit of a lumbering lump, 6 foot 4 and can’t win a header.

Seemed to be a totally different player to last week. Shocking today, won next to nothing, brought no one into play and his touch wasn’t great either.

Hopefully see more of the player that I saw at Bradford in future games

Positive is Miller is good up there and Agard was far better and took his goal well. Agard should be well ahead of Andrews in the pecking order

Problem Andrew has is there is nobody running past him for him to play it on to. He’s left trying to hold it and create something, which clearly he is not going to do.

And when he ball hits his head he has little control of where it goes. I’d say that’s the bigger problem. Had Miller with him all game and didn’t link  up with him once that I can remember

It's game two of a 46 game season. Two very hard games for any painting to get much of an understanding.

He'll get better.
