Title: Northern Ireland squad
Post by: The Red Baron on March 16, 2015, 12:28:13 pm
Luke McCullough has been named in the NI senior squad for their international matches later this month. He will be unavailable for the game with MK Dons on 28th March.

MK have two players- Grigg and Reeves - named in the same squad. If they get one more call-up they will have the option of postponing the game on 28th March.

Do MK Dons have anyone else who could possibly be called up for international duty? Could we lose Furman as well?

I don't believe SA have any competitive matches until the summer. MK Dons have postponed several games due to call-ups. I think Alli is the other regular international, but he's injured at the moment.

I hope it isn't off. I was hoping to take my 6-year-old lad to his second ever Rovers game.

MK Dons have had a player called up for the England under-20 squad but he doesn't count because he is on a youth loan. MK Dons are still saying more players could be called up but we are now just one week away from the game. Surely there must be a cut off point.

If the England U 20 player is in their usual 1st team squad it counts, loan or not. Think if we still had Sam Johnstone or Jed Steer and they made it 3 from our squad with say Furman and McCullough we would want it called off

McLaren has gone off injured in the Youth Team game at York. Hope it doesn't force him to miss the NI game.

Luke is on the bench for Northern Ireland tonight. Nice to see they still use "God Save The Queen" as their anthem, although it got the predictable reaction from the Jocks. Come on Norn Iron!

As far as I'm aware Jack McLaren is still in the under 19 squad after suffering bruised ribs at the weekend. They play the Dutch under 19s tomorrow and AZ Alkmaar on Saturday.

I was there a few years ago for the Norn Iron v England game. Had to be one of the best match atmospheres I've ever experienced. Quite extraordinary.

Hardly his fault though 😠😠

It wasn't his fault. Hughes was beaten too easily by Berra and only the bloke on the post knows what he was playing at!

In my brief and undistinguished football career I used to defend a post at corners and I always kept one hand- low down, of course - on the post to ensure I maintained my position. That chap - Hodson from MK Dons, I think - should try doing the same.
