Why is your chairman still banging on about Dunk?
« on April 29, 2013, 09:40:36 pm by steve72 »
I heard the silly old bugger on Sky the other day saying that Brighton relegated you on the first day because of the Sharpe incident. I've heard it all now.: :suicide:

The bloke is a tit and should retire. He fails to mention that Billy  only missed something like half a dozen games and that you sold him in Jan.

He had the whole of August transfer window to find a replacement or loan.

Who's Sharpe?

Seriously though, it is a bit cringeworthy now. He needs to move on & get over it.

Lewis Dunk should still be hung, drawn and quartered at any given opportunity though

What does it matter, Dunk "isn't that type of player" anyway...

Refresh my memory did Dunk get off his court case?

JR probably made those comments because he is right.

If the ref had dealt with it properly on the day, I doubt no one would still be mentioning it.  He didnt because it was Brighton's day in the sunshine what with opening their new stadium and he bottled making the right decision.  I understand why it still rankles with JR.  It still rankles with me.

Apparently, Dunk's defence was that he was on the phone when his team mates were cracking one off over an unconscious lass. So he didn't hear anything.

And of course, he didn't notice that anything untoward was happening because everyone knows that the Brigton players are a bunch of w**kers. As are many of the fans that they've picked up these last 16 years.

I've never forgiven Gary Mills for a two footed challenge on Rufus at Meadow Lane in 1987.

The little un has a mate a school whose dad is called Gary. I will not have the Kitson near our house, such is my disgust at that challenge.

And Rufus was only off the pitch for treatment for 30 seconds.

Dunk can go and do ten years looking after crippled kids in Papua New Guinea, then crawl here on his hands and knees and kiss my fecund northern gonads if he wants my forgiveness.

And even then I'd tell him to f**k off.

I seriously never forgave Barry Richardson for coming flying out of his area and dislocating Steve Richards shoulder. Even when he ended up playing for us a few years after.

And I seem to remember him wearing a Seaman-esque ponytail at the time which is equally unforgivable.

Dunk's tackle is the reason we are here today. I do agree Ryan is a bit eccentric at times but I fully agree with him on this point.

Every Rovers fans who was at that Brighton knows why. It was Brighton's big day, 20k+ packed in the ground, long journey for rovers. And for 55-60 minutes we absolutely dominated them. Playing sublime football in a structure with depended on King Billy as an outlet up front. It was honestly sublime.

Then Dunk commits assault on one of our players we collapse in the game and go on to lose [I can't remember how many] on the trot... on the rest... is history..

Hopefully Greg Dyke will increase the sanctions for violent conduct resulting in injury and end the need for us to harp on about injustices like this.

I never forgave Barry Richardson for being a goalkeeper.

lovely friendly media darlings Brighton - I still  remember them chucking bananas at Darren Moore when they needed to win to stay up, never bought into their shtick ever since

Many many years ago I served a court warrant on one of their players, caught him just coming out of the old Goldstone ground poor lad looked totally bewildered he did.

It was part of the job in them days, but since Mr Dunk took Billy out I sort of look at it with fond memories

It's ok lads. Lewis Dunk is unlikely ever to have this testicles removed by the Corporal. Informed opinion is that old Dunky dunked his thang once too often. He's not been in favour ever since, and the rumour is, he's on his way this close season.

Good riddance.

Odd this subject cropping up though. I was txting a Seagull mate just on Sunday about this very self same subject. Dunk certainly soured a long standing good relationship that day.
