Stand corrected. Just re-read it and I got the wrong end of the stick.

Apologies! Long week and all that.

Before reading anything else, I thought Alcock,
Williams is injured an Wright isn't a fringe player and is too valuable to let go.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't Alcock.

Someone has misinterpreted what I have said, just to clear it up, there is no way I would let either Mandeville or Wright go.
I put their names forward because I think other managers would take a punt on them, and they are not currently playing a big part in the first team.
I cannot be any plainer than the fourth post in this thread, if people would care to read it more carefully.

I wouldn’t class Wright as a fringe player, and I wouldn’t entertain selling him.
Agreed. Not unless we get £750.000 minimum
He is going to be Championship standard imo.

If we are not bringing anymore players in DF said today. Then there’s only Alcock who we could afford to go.

There’s only one other way and that’s selling a player for a decent amount money who would have to be replaced and bring in maybe another player.

The thing is that unless a player is wanting to leave, so wouldn't be wise to keep them, most of the others are development players with a view to growing us toward the sustainable Championship challenge in a couple of years. I don't see anyone as definitely surplus to requirements, not yet anyway. Reassessing everyone at the end of the season may mean releasing a few, but right now they wouldn't have been given a full chance to prove themselves.

Unless there's crazy money being offered, Alcock it is then.
