Mm. It's easy to forget where he's been. Certainly two terrific spells and he has the added bonus of Glynn as his right hand man, who's reputation as a coach is right up there. It maybe the perfect double act we're looking for. My only reservation is whether he still has the hunger.

I don't think Grayson has applied. I doubt he sees us as contenders. He'll not want to risk another bad season at this point of his career.

I think Warburton would be a great appointment. Did a great job at Brentford and wasn’t given much of a chance at forest. His teams play good football too. Like a few people have previously said though I would have thought he would be looking at a job in the championship when one comes up.

Don't think Warburton would be interested because he'll be hanging on for another job at a Championship club after doing well at Brentford and being one of many to have experienced Forest's revolving door policy.

Problem for him is if he goes to a League One clubs and fails, he might think it's unlikely he'll ever get another job at Championship level unless he earns promotion into the division.

For that reason I'd rule him out.

But as you mention about revolving doors, he may look at us as a well run club where he will be given time to work on his project.

well as you all now know it's now looking like JF Kennedy-Hasselblank ...

lest we forget Rovers scored 5 blanks at the end of the season

with hindsight and once we ALL took our blinkers off 5 blanks in a row is the recipe for a sacking at any other club not saying at all it would ever happen at DRFC- but the family events on that last match of the season might ? have influenced F ?  "Q am I going anywhere here ?" who knows

but either way the dust had to be allowed to settle before any possible announcement could be made.

obviously F doesn't read the posts on here from our Bradford correspondant idler - who warned us pre-season Bradford were not the force of old.  If Barnsley was further away from Doncaster and the rivalry etc was not so intense then F to them would have been a mutual good fit - but applying for a job there would be rubbing salt into ......
is Bradford any closer to his fathers home ? dunno

had to check JFK's management record forgot he won the 4th division seem to remember a lot of loanees in the team that was doing amazingly well (and we all said it couldnt last in the Shrewsbury style - and we were proved wrong again) til he left in December and Cluff did the rest so with hindsight he did well in his first stint

but at the Cobblers despite being given the job very early in the season he could not turn around a club that had on paper signed many a good player* (flashed the cash) and looked destined for the top 8 with ease pre-season (despite the problems over the building of the stand)

but Burton under him and attractive football ..... ??? not really

but a couple of young Chelsea loanees (one a striker) would make so much difference we all know what Bamford did at MK
and there's a lot of potential loanees from Tiddlebro he's probably told the board all these facts

* including one i suggested might turn up here not long ago

Can someone enlighten me why you think Grayson would be a good choice. Genuine question.

Four promotions from this division with four different clubs says it all.
If there was a key to this job, that is it. However, the wise would see the influence of funding in two or more of those promotions.

I see the Freepress states that 6 are being interviewed and then goes on to name 5 of the probable candidates. Perhaps it is just my suspicious mind but I have a feeling the real favourite for the job is the one they have not named.

Well, by rights, all of them should have done their homework and they should be licking their lips looking at the basis of the squad and the young talent at their disposal. They will know they won't need to add too much to get the team very competitive. The more I think about it, any one of four have a great chance of succeeding. Plus, I think anyone of those four would be widely accepted by the fans.

Has been said elsewhere but i think DF did us a favour leaving when there seems to be some decent appointments about for a change!

Don't think he had it in him to take us much further personally but some of the names mentioned probably do, just hope we don't all feel let down when the decision is made which is the danger now

I trust the board to make the best decision. Their choice of Fergie was right at the time and I think we're in better shape than when he was appointed albeit in the same division.

Agreed, I reckon me and you could manage Celtic to another title next season Copps.

Would definitely pay to watch any team that you and your mate Dickos managed.

I can imagine it would be lively in the dressing room at half time if things weren’t going to plan.

At one time, Lifelong Supporter kept on going on about how he had a contact at the club. Because of quite a few leaks happening, the club deliberately gave a specific piece of misinformation to one (and only one) employee. Within 24 hours it was posted as the truth on this very forum. Dropped to 5/1 when I checked earlier now into 4s

I think he would be a poor appointment

He hasn't had a permanent job as a manager for four years, and he'd done bugger all to impress up to then anyway.

This. Wellens has the same chance of Mark Weaver of being on the short list.

I think you've got the wrong person.
When was this supposed to happen?
I've never claimed to have a contact at the club.

It was in 2014. I could be mistaken in that you weren't told directly by the leaker inside the club but maybe instead indirectly by a third party, but you were definitely the first to mention the misinformation on here.
