Willie Mackay was stopped by police in Central London for using a cell phone, it was then found he was banned from driving and fined over 6,000 quid. At the same time the police found a class A drug cocaine in his car, I think we need to steer clear for the good of the club.

By the way this is a headline story on the Sun website.

Also got a nice pic of Hamilton wearing our shirt from last season!

Quel surprise.
-
Scum. Sure Norfolk will make a few excuses for him though
-
I don't think anyone can.
Hopefully this is the final word on the whole McKay thing.
-
Sounds like he's fallen on hard times. Only £70k savings? I thought he made over a £1million from the Barton (spit) transfer.
But still he's a nice guy isn't he......... :suicide:
-
You wouldn't tell them honestly what you had if it meant a bigger fine would you?
-
Sorry wasnt it the club that approached Mr McKay?
-

Well I would, being honest. Do the crime, pay the fine. It's not like he couldn't afford it. Besides isn't it perjury to lie under oath?
-
Sorry wasnt it the club that approached Mr McKay?
Depends which of the 500 stories you listen to.

Or what what Dick and John tell us?
Makes me laugh everyone paints McKay as this devil and makes out he was the one who was knocking our door down!
He worked with Dean and the Chairman to get some high profile players in.
Remind me of his crime Rovers wise?
-
The majority of his dough won't be in British bank accountst will it. It will be well hidden.
-
what the problem? he was only in it for the crack

Let's miss out on some world class players like Chimbonda because the papers say hims a nasty man

There are perfectly good excuses for WM's predicament:
1. Its perfectly legal not to include bungs in your final year accounts apparently, because the tax people don't know anything about them. I would like to point out that WM and bungs is only alleged and never been proven.
2. I have no doubt that he never knew anything about the drugs and that they were certainly not there when he went to church on Sunday with his wife and children.
3. Its a simple thing to forget you had a driving ban and the reason he never had insurance was that he never wanted to tell lies about his ban to his insurance company. If he had a serious accident and someone had been seriously injured then he would of course been very sorry.
I put him in the same class as Richardson, undesirable, and a very painful door in our history that is now firmly shut.

My point is he answered our SOS and Saunders didint have to agree to any of the players.
-
And we all thought it was the just an experiment to keep us up on the Championship that failed, I think certain people (intials not supplied ) who judgment is know in doubt , should start and support his managers efforts to get the club back their . Was it really worth all that hassle after all.
-
We were told that McKay approached the club with the plan. JR said this on Radio Sheff.
Also, Chimbonda is not a world-class player. f**k me, Norfolk. Behave yourself.
-
Norfolk,
When you call Chimbonda a "world class" player you lose all credibility.
I can only think your comments are a pathetic attempt to provoke a silly debate?
Surely the court case tells you something about the man?
Banned from driving,
no insurance,
drugs,
only earns £3000pw
Even JR accepts criticism for the failure of the WM regime.
IT WAS A SPECTACULAR FAILURE WHICH MADE US A LAUGHING STOCK IN THE FOOTBALL WORLD>
-
Why would we want McKay?
I'll be more than happy if he gets us Fabien Robert on loan.
Makes me laugh everyone taking the morale high ground. When Jamie Lawrence scored at Carlisle away was everyone ashamed or was everyone going ballistic and chanting his name.
-
Did I say Chimbonda was world class?
Another poster was being funny I am merely keeping to the facts.
JR asked MacKay and he brought in his contacts which Saunders could veto at any time.

Can you back this up please? I've heard many different stories so I'd like to know what these "facts" are.

This was said at the fans forum

Bring back the death penalty...Jeez, what a monster.
-
The Suns morale crusade against Willie McKay, very honorable! That guy Rupert Murdoch who basically decides who's going to govern us each election is whiter than white isn't he!

Please dont tell me you've never read the bible.
-
Sorry but if you believe that the majority of high-profile "celebrities" (in quotations for a reason) keep stringently to the law then you've got some major waking up to do. Only reason we don't hear more about what footballers get up to is because the clubs pay off the media.
Let he who hath no sin chuck the first brick.

I believe it's "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" and it refers to the punishment of evil. Unfortunately it fails to take into account that in casting the first stone, you're committing a sin in line with the commandments but I suppose that depends whether or not you include being part of a mob-killing as murder as an individual. They had different ideas of laws back then. Then again, the bible is one huge contradiction as it is.

Very much like that Great British institution which is the Sun newspaper.

That's odd, I could have sworn you were an expert in knowing exactly and fully what people mean on very little understanding of what they said. Often you seem to think you can read their mind too.

Oh, I'm sure you know RR. If not then perhaps you should remove the plank from your own eye before trying to remove the spec from mine.
