I like having something called Lakeside, that is where we play after all. I wanted the stadium to be called the Lakeside Stadium until we sold the rights for sponsorship.

Although I do like donnyroversfc's idea of getting Michelle Keegan down for all our home games. That'd be terrific.

Belle Vue Bar.
It would be great to change from lakeside as there has been confusion amongst some of us when saying meet at lakeside as to which one was meant, the other one being the beefeater place.

The Sir Francis Tierney sounds great as a potential Weatherspoons.

I always fancied 'The Black Bank Stadium' as a name for the stadium.

I must confess I did like the sound of the Lakeside Stadium.
As for the Belle Vue bar any chance of recreating a smaller Pop Stand outside as a smoking shelter, steps an all?

We should do the same at the KM. The idea about naming exec boxes in the same way is also a good one.
That way, we can include plenty of names.

There's the added advantage of being able to tell your mates: "meet you at the Harry Gregg bar in the West Stand"!
And by the way, "Belle Vue Bar" gets my vote for the Lakeside.

Exactly Neil,I was going to mention that too.

vote on polls, but when Im on the thread with the poll results, the poll results have the relevant info missing .
It tells me "The Lakeside Bar should be renamed the.. " then a blank space, and then "total members voted: 18".
Cheers in advance.

As much as I admired what he did for us and wish he was still here, NO. He only wanted a cup of tea after beating Leeds.

Says what exactly?

The poll was added to this thread only when we had received a significant number of options.

There's some cracking suggestions, but for longevity and in with so many generations still with fond memories of the old place, Belle Vue Bar for me.

I like the idea of Michelle Keegan opening the Rovers Return. As i was first to suggest that name,do i win her for the day and night as well or is that being greedy.

Why not name a combo meal deal 'Hayters Header' and sell a special edition cocktail beverage 'Miller's Punch'? (see how many of you get the ref!)

If there's any ridiculously priced meals can we name it the Justin Jackson 'special'?

Drover, you just beat me to it!

I've been racking my brains all morning to remember which stadium I visited years ago which had every bar / food outlet in the concourses named after club 'legends'.
There were big photos of the relevant person above their particular bar / outlet.
I can't remember where it was now but I thought what a great idea it was.

We should do the same at the KM. The idea about naming exec boxes in the same way is also a good one.
That way, we can include plenty of names.

Its Leicester City that do that

My suggestion is Tierneys

Over 50's fans will remember Mrs Teals humbugs that were sold outside Belle Vue at games up to the 60's. In remembrance of this why don't we for once in our lives do something original and call it 'Bar Humbug'?

Saunders Inn? :chair:

Ironic when you consider quite a few fans seem to spout the exact opposite (Saunders Out!!)

For me it's got to be Belle-Vue bar. Don't get me wrong, as much as I love the idea of naming pubs etc... After club legends, it always screams something off Phoenix Nights

I.e.
"Where shall we put this replica Conference Trophy memorabilia"??

... "oh just stick it in the Francis Tierney suite!!"
