I like green and white as an away kit but definitely not hoops - too iconic (Celtic, or even Yeovil!), maybe Hibs/Arsenal style?

I know this sounds a bit out of left field, but couldn't we tie in our away kit with the clubs chosen charity of the particular season? Much like the green and white hoops we wore for the children's charity the other year.

Isn't Bluebell Wood our charity of choice this season, so we'd maybe play in sky blue? A free advert on the back of the shirt maybe, then auction the shirts off for that chosen charity.

Perhaps as well as selecting the design, we can gauge the feedback on whether the club should stick to a 2 year commitment (although, if it's not the manufacturer that changes, its seems to be the sponsor!)
(Noted the poll but we could do with an official one via IRWT)

Does the club think it can make more profit by selling new shirts each season, or do we think much less people will buy because it's too frequent and end up being counter productive?

One of things I suggested to add value to the cost of season tickets and to encourage folk to buy new shirts is having the option of a more substantial discount of the price of a shirt.

Anyway, let's not get too carried away, the club will probably present you with 3 designs so you can choose one of them.

The Viking Leisurewear kits from 1999-2001 were the best kits I can remember in terms of quality.

Apart from the incredibly tight neck hole on the white one.  I still have the navy blue shorts from that year

I think there's something about the football league not wanting teams to have hoops or stripes for both home and away due to the two kits not doing enough to avoid a clash with the opponents kit? (Not sure though).  That's why blue and white hoops (which looked great if a bit too QPR) were dropped.

I'm OK with the current away kit ('cept it looks like Aarau, which could prove unpopular where I live) but that's my problem.

"Rover's 'til I Die" on the shirt?  I'm not sure.  It's a bit naff.  How about "Pub Team having a laugh"  :coat:

"Deano's Flynn's Barmy Army"  :chair:

More seriously "In Rovers we Trust".

Or historic names like "Alick Jeffery, Francis Tierney, "John Ryan"

No to green & white hoops they look awful IMHO
Plain  away shirt in colour for something different .
As for some moaning on here about the club changing kits , how do they want the club to generate money ? Do these people only buy a T Shirt once every two years?

Well maybe the cut wasn't all it could have been, but anyway I quite liked the narrow crew neck on those kits. The fabric was a heavier weight than usual, built to last they were.

Maybe a retro away kit?  A repro of the first kit, blue with big yellow X?

Or the all green with white sleeves circa 1980.. I had one of those :)

Agreed - would love some retro.

First kit I remember - white shirt with two red hoops would look good.

Some interesting articles about how they have approached this with other clubs, palace in particular gives me some hope. I think in someways that a vote for all the different designs is not a bad idea either

http://www.footballshirtculture.com/12/13-kits/crystal-palace-2012-2013-football-shirts.html

http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/English_Football_League/season/2012-2013/championship.html

If someone can do a knockup something based on a shirt from the past that could be a viable best seller than that would be good as well

Ps thanks for exclusive Martin and to the club for letting you give the inside info

I remember being at millmoor and being subjected to the horror of off-yellow shirts and brown shorts. Very wrong, and please never to be repeated.

I'd rather have RTID than IRWT. Quite like the Pub Team having a Laugh, though it'd never happen.

Why not have the away kit in the Blue and Gold of the Dons as they will be playing their away games in the Red and White of the Rovers!

Skellows green designs from a couple of years ago were class

I liked the fine green hooped one, from what I remember. Personally didn't like any of the away options this season but they done us good!

Well if we win the league there is reason to have 4 stars as it will be the 4th time we win the third tier.

So to get the ball rolling: What does everyone think?

Narrower hoops, and black shorts with white stripe at home, and African Violet and Black away from home.

I seem to remember Weststander that some years ago we DID have an African Violet away strip. Am I right?

We played in African Violet at Anfield in the 2-2 draw in 73/74 season (so you were right) and it made the players look really macho. Used the kit for most of the away games that Season

Also remember the less macho (but not bad) Lemon Shirts / Chocolate Shorts probably a couple of seasons before

Am I right in thinking the One Call sponsorship ends at the end of the season?

I think it does Frosty, I just stuck them on the short as I want the emphasis to be the design and not the sponsors as I don't know who the new sponsors will be.

Not bad but one thing I would want is a space between the badge and shirt sponsors. I always feel it looks pub teamish when they are so close together.

Maybe put the stars under the badge as well so they look as If they belong together.

Wasn't it described as "Chocolate and Custard"?
